I get that the Bears/Eagles has a little more implication play-off wise but still.

Oh well.

How so, 2 teams that are hoping for help to get in the 6th spot that SF owns.....Or a look at the last 2 standing in the last 2 years running AFCCG ????
The Quitter Bears and the X Dream team, Seriously ?????:scratch::scratch:

Replaced by Bears / Eagles. I don't get it. I'm also thoroughly annoyed because this game should have been the season opener and now it's not even prime time.

It makes sense, though.

The Pats needed a miracle to beat the BROWNS and the Ravens needed the same against the Vikings.

This game has 'dog' written all over it, especially when you've got the Bears and Eagles - both of whom are playing pretty good ball right now and jockeying for a playoff spot.

There is nothing about Bal/NE that has "dog" written all over it. As I stated before...it actually has everything to do with the CBS national game being initially scheduled as Pit / GB. That is the game that now has "dog" written all over it.

As far as ratings go:

Bal/NE and Chi/Phi >>> Pit/GB and Bal/NE

What other game was CBS going to replace Pit/GB with?

Where, please show me, did I say that the Green Bay/Pittsburgh game was going to be a good one?

I agree, that's a dog as well.

The network HAS to back the game that's the best match up and Bal/NE isn't going to be a good one. Both teams are struggling right now whether you want to admit it or not. The both of you played the two worst teams in the league on Sunday and needed miracle comebacks to win.

NOT a good omen.

The Bears and Eagles have both been on fire lately, AND are doing it with backups, AND in races for their division crowns ATM.

Face it: The Bears/Eagles is a much, MUCH better game than NE/Bal.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It was never about NE/Bal against Chi/Phi. It was about having both (and replacing Pit/GB). If NE/Bal was such a dog...why would they have it as the national game of the week?

BTW...again...it's the league's decision.

Foles and McCowan are due for the real them to show up in a game that has 10 int's divided up between them and a couple fumbles on top of that.....Does anybody besides some homer fans and their Momma's really believe they are going to do anything substantial ????....If so, I have some Ocean front property in the middle of the Desert I will sell you cheap and reasonable.....

Who is McCowan?

10 INT's? Foles has 1 and Josh McCown has 1. That is 2 INT's. where did you get 10?

Both the Eagles and Bears are in a fight for playoff spots. The Pats are going to playoffs and the Ravens will miss out. Bengals win that division.

Just say you don't like the Ravens. It's all good. You don't have to make yourself look like an idiot by implying that the Eagles and Bears game would somehow be a better draw than two teams that have represented the AFFCG the last two years and who are (as of right now) both playoff teams.

At this point I'd say the Ravens have a great shot at making the playoffs and making noise again when they get there.

Not really sure why they would do this flex other than the fact that they are able to do so. IMO I would rather the Pats/Ravens game be on. Anyway, here is the Flex info:

Flexible Scheduling

Allows teams to play their way onto the Sunday night schedule
In 2006 the NFL implemented a primetime "flexible scheduling" element on Sundays in Weeks 10-15 and in Week 17.
Flexible scheduling ensured quality matchups on Sunday night in those weeks and gave surprise teams a chance to play their way onto primetime.
The NFL schedule will again utilize flexible scheduling in Weeks 11-17. The NBC Sunday night time slot for "flex" weeks will list the game tentatively scheduled for Sunday night.
Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game will be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday nights.
Just as the six major college football conferences have done for many years, the NFL will have the flexibility to move the start times of games on Sundays, using a 12-day notice format.
For example, a game scheduled for a Sunday could move from a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff to an 8:15 p.m. start, but the change would be made and announced no later than the prior Tuesday, 12 days prior.
The NFL has commonly moved games between 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:15 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoons, and the NFL now employs flexible scheduling to include one of its primetime packages of games - on Sunday evenings.
Sunday afternoon games, as in the past, can still be moved between 1:00 and 4:05 or 4:15 p.m. ET.
In Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

They are now banking on you watching both (instead of losing millions due to the GB/Pit game).

BTW...again...it's the league's decision.

And the LEAGUE makes that choice based upon what's best for the NETWORK because the NETWORK PAID extra money to be able to host the Sunday night game.

See how that works?

NBC pays top dollar to have the privledge of airing games on Sunday night (the only game they get all weekend) and they pass that cost on to the advertisers. The money they charge the advertisers is based upon how great the game is supposed to be and the time slot.

NE/Bal, when it was scheduled, looked like a great match up and one worthy of the money NBC was paying the NFL that they were getting from their advertisers.

But now that it looks like it's going to be a dog, they've changed that game to Chi/Philly. That keeps the people tuning in, which means they'll see the ads aired by NBC, which means NBC is happy and thus the NFL is happy.

Now, what part of that aren't you understanding?

Foles had a jersey recently sent to Canton, Ohio. Something about throwing 7 (that's SEVEN) TD's in a single game.

Oh, and his RB just had his shoes sent to Canton, Ohio for his performance for this past Sunday.

If you think they CAN'T do anything substantial, you must really believe Flacco is worth every penny of what they're paying him this year. :pound:

The HOF has so many fakes in there . it's pathetic.....Stat hero's by the bushell....Try winning some SB's and then bring it....You're runnin' on an empty tank right now....Ask Marino if he would trade all his stats and accolades for just 1 SB win......Wake up hater, it's reality !!!!:doh::doh:

Hater?

I'm a hater just because I'm saying the Philly/Chi game looks like it's going to be a better game than NE/Bal?

Dude, your club NARROWLY escaped one of the worst teams in the league. Ditto for the Pats.

They'll win their division by default like they do every year.

Both teams are struggling right now and if you can't admit that, you're a homer. It's that simple.

Philly is on fire right now, so is Chicago. Either one of those teams would be the snot out of the Ravens this week.

Allow me to show you how big of a homer you are.....

NO ONE, at this point last year, thought the Ravens were going to 'do anything substantial'.

Right?

Who won the SB?

That's right....a team no one thought would, 'do anything substantial'.

If lightning struck for the Ravens, it can strike for anyone else - including the teams YOU don't think are worth much but are playing MUCH better ball than your club right now.

Your club got bumped out of the night time slot because they BARELY survived the Vikings. In short, they sucked. If you want to blame someone, blame your club for not playing better.

Let me see if I can help you understand this. If Fox had the 4:25pm national game of the week instead of CBS, the Bears/Eagles game would be in that time slot and the Ravens/Pats game would still be the NBC game. Obviously you can't have an NFC game on CBS so it went down this way.

This move was completely about replacing the Steelers/Packers game which was originally scheduled to be the CBS game of the week. The NFL wants the biggest combined audience with both games.

Ravens/Pats and Bears/Eagles >>> Steelers/Packers and Ravens/Pats. Or more simply:

Bears/Eagles >>> Steelers/Packers
