I give him a B. He's done a great job instilling rules and a no-bullshit attitude, which is especially important when dealing with older players who can become entitled and lethargic at times. For example, I love occasionally taking Howard out of the clean-up spot, especially against lefties-something Manuel never did. I also like his willingness to keep starting players who are playing well (minus Asche on Opening Day). On the other hand, he's handled Asche and Brown very poorly, and continues to start Revere. I also sometimes question his use of our shitty bullpen. Overall, his positives outweigh his negatives so far. Let's see what he does with Ruf.
