2008 F We follow the amazing 07 draft with this crapfest.

1 29 (29) Kentwan Balmer Horrible Pick. Our GM must have been drunk at the time
2 8 (39) Chilo Rachal Another bad pick Rachal had all the talent but was lacking between the ears
3 12 (75) Reggie Smith Solid player for us once switched to Safety. Should have stayed with the 49ers instead of looking for greener pastures. Out of the NFL currently.
4 8 (107) Cody Wallace Backup Center that never played a down. Another bad pick
6 8 (174) Josh Morgan Best pick of the draft comes in the 6th smh. Solid possession WR. Redskins overpaid for his services
7 7 (214) Larry Grant Solid backup was released by the 49ers and started on the Rams for a few seasons before coming back to be a solid rotation guy

The only starter was Morgan and he was a 6th round choice should sum up this draft.

2009 B-

1 10 (10) Michael Crabtree #1 WR Finally has started to live up to draft position. Looks to have a great season this coming season with Kap at QB
3 10 (74) Glenn Coffee Had great potential left the team for personal reason.
5 10 (146) Scott McKillop Solid backup & STs injury's forced him out of NFL
5 35 (171)* Nate Davis Lot of upside but never had the desire to be a great QB
6 11 (184) Bear Pascoe 3rd TE never really did well with the 49ers but won a Superbowl with Giants (maybe 2)
7 10 (219) Curtis Taylor Special Teams Demon!
7 35 (244)* Ricky Jean-Francois Great rotation guy. Was the 1st man off the bench for all 3 DLine spots. Left for greener pastures this offseason.

The 09 was a solid draft. Crabs has the potential to be a star & others where solid depth. Gave this draft B- because we got good contributions from late round picks and we got a 1st rounder next year with a trade with the Panthers

Hey USCDoom, what are your thoughts on TJ McDonald?

I like him, though he will struggle early. People say he is too stiff, but I dont see Any Difference between him and Barron in that aspect. He has always had more of a Linebacker mentality than a Corner. He does have maybe the Worst Hands I have ever seen on a good player. That, IMO, is why he was knocked more than he should. It was not so much bad coverage as horrible ball skills. He cannot catch with his hands.

He is at a perfect place with Fisher and that staff though. I think he struggles his 1st year and everyone calls him a bust (kind of like Ronde Barber), then he will get better and better.

I hate to sound like a homer, but I was screaming for the 49ers to draft Tank Carradine & Corey Lemonier all offseason. And I thought Eric Reid was the best safety in the draft, so I was on cloud 9 on draft day(s).

I gotta hand it to the Giants though; I think they got the steal of the draft in John Hankins. I thought he was the 2nd or 3rd best defensive player in the entire draft. And I think Damontre Moore in the 3rd was great value. Their success soured my happy draft experience a little.

I think Tennessee & Detroit cleaned up too.
