Booker is the kind of guy I'm dealing as Phoenix.

You can probably get a nice return for him and the advanced metrics aren't huge fans of his.

If Grayson Allen ends up in a Celtics uniform I won't be happy.

:exploding:

There's a few guys who I see Danny looking at. Based on track record....although every once in a while he takes a JR Giddens (aka a zero grit player...passing on DeAndre Jordan to take him...argh) and blows it up.

Melton is the obvious fit. But I'm not sure he'll be there.

Allen has a legit chance of going there, he's got that bulldog streak danny likes to have. But yeah, he's a punk.

Funny though, hot rumor right now is boston trading up to get BAMBA.

If you haven't noticed, I"m unhealthily obsessed with Mo Bamba.

I watched Allen enough times during his NBA career I kinda see him like Jimmer Fredette. Great CBB player. But I have my doubts about him @ the NBA level.

My own speculation is that involved a Rozier to Orlando deal.

Frankly it's the most likely trade partner.

BUT...I can't see him falling past Dallas at 5.

This is such a big FA year. It will effect all this IMO. Need to stagger the contracts and the ages/experience. Lakers and Suns look like great destination places for FA's

Is Ayton # 1 about the only sure thing for the draft? I know Doncic is talented, but will teams shy away from using a high pick on a kid that might not play next year?

Eh, Doncic's floor is probably Dallas.

It's very likely Ayton goes 1-1.

some metrics like his defense more than scouts do.

But he's certainly not Bamba or Jackson.

I think Danny might take Evans from Cincy even if the need isn't clearly there. He could replace Smart after year 1 and is just a super gritty player and one of the best defenders on the planet.

Jevon Carter isn't in play simply because he's not long enough for Danny's track record, but normally he would be high on my list for a danny pick beyond that.

This is the best top of the draft since 2003 (Bron/Melo/Bosh/Wade draft).

I wouldn't mind seeing Carter in Celtics Green. He's a tough defender. I liked that Brown & Tatum picks. Hopefully Ainge gets the player he's looking for though.

Man, when we 1st moved down here and discovered what discretionary income was we took the kids to Hawks games maybe 5 or 6 times a year.

Now...I tee it up every Saturday with that money...I'll watch the Hawks on TV...lol

Basing this off the teams ranked here and factoring in only their core young players/draft picks and not the cap space/potential FA's they can get.
1. Denver(Agree with tlance that they're not really a rebuild after signing Millsap and just missing the playoffs): I really like the Jokic, Murray, Harris trio.
2. Suns: Booker, Jackson, and the #1 pick is a good group to build around and they have another pick just out of the lottery.
3. Knicks: Porzingis, enough said.
4. Kings: I'm happy with what they're putting together, and hopefully Ayton or Doncic is part of it a month from now. My worries of the FO decision making isn't factored in, but it's still there.
5. Bulls: Toss up between them and the Lakers here, I chose the Bulls because they have a lottery pick and fuck the Lakers. Still might need that #1 guy like the Kings but Lauri is better than I expected him to be.
6. Lakers: Good core and will almost certainly add an expensive FA even if that doesn't factor in to this ranking.
7. Magic: Depends on what happens with Gordon, but if they keep him and add a guard in the draft(hello Trae Young!) they've got a solid group to build around.
8. Hawks: Close between them and Dallas but went with Atlanta here because they have a higher pick and I like their younger talent more.
9. Mavs: DSJ is fun to watch.
10. Nets: Just a bad situation after terrible trades years ago. They have some nice pieces like Lavert and Allen but the rebuild is probably gonna take a while.
