CLEVELAND — Rangers manager Ron Washington said Sunday he expects that Shin-Soo Choo’s time will be split more evenly between outfield and DH for the remainder of the season.
The reasons are two-fold: To give Choo more time off the sore ankle that has bothered him since late April and to give the Rangers more chance to look at Jim Adduci in the outfield as a potential 2015 option.
“I want to see Adduci,” Washington said. “I haven’t really seen him. I’ll give Adduci some time at DH, too.”
RW on Odor: While Odor is getting acclimated to major league baseball, Washington doesn’t want to burden him with the notion of being more disciplined because, with young players they often interpret it as “taking pitches,” which leads to passiveness.
“It’s going to take some time to calm that down,” Washington said.
