...thus avoiding arbitration. The deal is worth $2.9M and he can earn an extra $50k with performance bonuses. After last year's Tommy John surgery, it's likely that Feliz will be a reliever.

At this point, with his command and control issues, now complicated by shoulder and now elbow issues, there are no guarantees that he has any future in the rotation

I really hope he does but even I have my doubts now

I'm hoping that the rehab at the ML level will give him work on control. When he was a kiddo and before the MLB coaches could get ahold of him he learned the grip-it-and-rip-it throwing style. I am hopeful that starting over from darn near step 1 will teach him better mechanics. He will likely lose a bit of velocity, but a guy throwing 95 who can get a good curve across the plate or pinpoint the throw is worth a lot more than a 100+ fireballer who gets in trouble with a patient team.
