I don't see how we can let him go. The second best hitter still on the upswing of his career playing a defensive position extremely well. I'd rather have Elvis long-term over Cruz, Hamilton, Napoli, or just about any other current Ranger.

I agree 100%. I'd rather have 1 too many elite middle infielders and figure out where they all fit into the lineup than to trade a special talent like Elvis because we supposedly have his replacement all ready to go.

If Darvish continues to dazzle, he would have to get serious consideration to be our opening game starter in the playoffs. He has won 5 out of his last 6 starts with an era of 2.34. All quality starts with 51 K's in 42.2 innings.
Think all of us know on this board that he has the awesome stuff and that it would be just a matter of time for him to get adjusted to ML hitters.

He's been pretty lights out since he got a few extra days off when his quad was acting up, I think the quad was legitimately hurt but it could've have only helped with general fatigue as well

Even in his rough patch he managed 4 quality starts, but in the other 6 really bad, so despite the 4 good starts, his ERA is was 5.94 with a WHIP at 1.45

in this time his ERA ballooned from 3.21 to 4.57 in those 10 starts, since then his ERA is 2.32 with a WHIP under 1
