Anyone not name Gallo and I agree. Don't like the idea of putting undue pressure on the youngster at this point in his career.

He can't be much worse in LF than he's been at 3B

Like to see it sustained a bit longer, but its nice to see him finally hit some HRs, maybe a trip to AAA soon

I'm in no hurry to rush Mazara, Gallo semi-made sense due to a lack of internal options, Mazara not as much so

I don't think he's any worse than Choo out there, and is be surprised if he's worse than Gallo.

Agreed....But do consider, I didn't want him called up when he was to begin with.

One thing for all of us to consider is, we aren't privy to the conversations internally. Banister and team mgmt team chat with Joey and tell him, "relax big guy. It's one night in the rest of your life. We can adjust."

For me, I'd put Rosales in LF and leave Gallo at 3rd. But better yet (after reading recent posts) why not Blanks?

I agree. Smolinski has been awful. At the plate and in the field. He must have taken lessons from Michael Choice on how to be productive and then completely forget how to play baseball.

Maybe the conversation has been "you're not a ML 3B, your future is probably in the OF, the time is now"

Me either.....But I think I'd rather see this and Gallo at his natural position (to date anyway).

Also considering our biggest issue has been IF defense then maybe Alberto at 3B & Gallo in LF was seen as the lesser of 2 evils

I think there have been more, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. It doesn't matter. I don't want Smolinski out there. I would bet the only reason he's still up here is because they really don't see him having a future here. They would rather him rot on the bench then some of the other options.

Looks like he has a grand total of 36 innings in LF over the past 5 seasons. So not much at all.

It appears the Rangers are content to let 2 guys play in unfamiliar positions just to keep Alberto in the lineup instead of someone else. Hanser is 4 for his last 19 so I really don't understand the importance of keeping his bat in the lineup when it puts two guys including him out of position defensively. Smolinski is 3 for his last 17 while playing extremely sporadically. Give me Smolinski in LF and Gallo at 3B. That makes much more sense.

I think they realize Blanks was hitting over his head for a couple of weeks and they probably expect him to be more of what he usually is from this point going forward.

I think Alberto will be just fine at 3B, I doubt its about Alberto's bat as much as it about Alberto's glove at 3B, not Gallo's at 3B, and not Smolinski's bat in LF
