I snuck into the rangers front office and this is how they evaluate the current group of position players.


odor strikes out = front office ignores it like it didn't happen.

Odor makes contact and gets out = it's the equivalent of backups Santana, forsythe, or pence getting a single

Odor gets a single = equal to a Santana, forsythe, or Calhoun extra base hit

Odor gets a double = equal to a Santana, forsythe, or Calhoun home run

Odor gets a triple = we might have the next mike trout on our hands.

Odor gets a home run = slump is over. Previous negative at bats completely forgotten about and forgiven. Leash is extended by another 2 weeks.

I'm giving Lynn a lot of credit for his performance today. Some on the board are hard on the rotation but Minor and Lynn have done quite well. Smyly was injured early and did not have much chance at the start and looked better after coming back. Miller is a different story. He needs replacing. For all you critical Nancies, the rotation less Minor was hired cheap with no hopes of taking us to the WS. They are doing what they were hired to do.......support development and player evaluation.IMHO

What’s frustrating is I wish we had some guys who could go 5 innings and give up 4 runs consistently. We can’t even seem to get that from the other 3 starters.

Winn got his feet wet. He went 3 innings and gave up 2 runs while striking out 2. I think it is his first game action since a year ago in high school so I will take it.

Since it is a rebuild, Odor has the year to get it together and if he doesn't, he may not find himself if Woody's grace's.

Palumbo started off a little shaky, but overall had a good outing. He went 5 innings and even though he gave up 3 runs, only 1 was earned. He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk. He also struck out 6 Sod Poodles.
