So between Gallo, Mazara, Odor, Calhoun, and Guzman how would you rank them in terms of what we could get back in trade?

In May amateur opinion I would rank them exactly in your order with Guzman and Calhoun a toss up.

Guzman defense my put him ahead but in Calhoun I think we have a unique hit tool. Chance to be great hitter

Spokane loses the finals series by balking home the winning run after walking in the tying run.

Those guys will fit right in it seems. lol

Would you use the same order if you were ordering them by value to us as far as production we will get from them?

Ok hitting production

Gallo Odor Mazarin Willie Rakes Guzman.

The top 3 are all close. Mazara has purest swing and Gallo top ceiling. Odor has shown he can rebound under adversity and has no contract worries to distract. He also wil have good players behind him and will see better pitches now he will take a walk

What is your take

I wouldn't change your ordering g up much if any. Odor is the wild card. He could eventually be at the top or the bottom. I would probably rank him below Mazara.

If they are planning on trading a player like that should they trade the guy they can get the most from or take a lesser package for a lesser player? Of course, the ideal situation would be to find a GM who wants to trade and values the guys differently thus allowing us to trade a guy for more than we value him.

Then there is the idea of which of those guys can we replace by someone in the system eventually. Someone who projects to be a quality MLB player.

Value is major factor in trading LHB. But not sure Willie Rakes can pull a player we need. Also his spot is blocked by Choi and maybe Beltre.

I might value defense more than some which bodes well for Gallo and Guzman. Chemistry to me is big ala well. Love to keep as much of the old Hickory squad together if possible. Need a big RHB in lineup IMO which is why a Beltre return is quite possible

Also would not be surprised if we extend Andrus by a year to offset buyout. Profar now looks much more comfortable at 3B and Elvis seems to be aging well. Hate to get locked in but also hate to be in limbo

At some point we should be able to go out and sign a free agent RH bat if we need to.

Yeah, I don't think Calhoun or Guzman would bring back a whole lot. If they trade someone to bring something significant back then it would probably need to be Gallo, Mazara or Odor.

I hate that Chris Seise got hurt. Hopefully, he returns to pre-injury form, but that certainly isn't guaranteed.

I am hoping it is either San Antonio or Nashville since it won't be Round Rock.
The Spokane status is uncertain as well.

Here is my list again. I want to see Taveras dominate a level before ranking him as high as most do.

I think by this time next year that Cole Winn will be much higher on my list.

1. Hans Crouse
2. Joe Palumbo
3. Cole Ragans
4. J P Martinez
5. Bubba Thompson
6. Willie Calhoun
7. Leody Taveras
8. Cole Winn
9. Chris Seise
10. Jonathan Hernandez
