Yu's season & Roogie Odor say hello....

Absolutely.

And we can learn, even from a negative standpoint, which can show huge dividends for next season from players who aren't what we hoped. Example: Nick Martinez/Tepesch. Neither have performed as well as they would have hoped, or us/team would have desired. But.....are they learning via experience - albeit a negative one - on what they have to do in order to succeed at this level for next season; second half of this season?

If they are, then we're just seeing the tip of their potential, b/c they are willing and able to learn and grow.

Tep has had a rough couple starts, that's going to happen but he's had a couple pretty good ones, that's why he needs to stay a develop consistency and work on his changeup versus ml hitters

So much more interesting things going on right now than watching this rangers team. The NBA finals and World Cup. I'll still watch some, but injuries have dampened the enthusiasm.
Tyler go to your room, pick up your toys and put your fathers phone away and quit bothering people.

The joke is old..... I'm entitled to an opinion like everyone else.
No one wants to listen to the negative bs. Work on a positive approach and you might find it makes a difference.

Get the feeling if it were good news we'd here about Moreland by now.

Understood. And I'm not lumping the two Nick's together by any stretch.

I see Martinez as someone who is "really" in need of seasoning in the minors though. And that's not a knock at all. Just see him as "in a little over his head" at this point in his pitching career.

But hey, we're scrambling to find arms to start.

I said earlier today that I'm not sure there's any good news to be had for MM in 2014.

Sorry to sound so negative. But Mitch has beat lumps on my confidence level in him.

Careful donald..... The board doesn't like any Mitch bashing. They think he's the next Mark Teixera.

I'm not bashing.....My previous posts for 12+ months would reflex this. But I've long stated how it makes me crazy to count on guys who can't stay upright on the playing field. MM qualifies.

And for whatever it's worth, trading Tex was perhaps the greatest trade of assets in Rangers history.

Don't have too many options but Choice just does not seem like a leadoff man.

Does it seem Wash is a little slower on this than everyone else thats watched so far. I think a guy that has already shown to be struggling so far in his rookie season, should not have the added pressure of hitting in the leadoff spot. You are right with the not many options point, however in all fairness to Michael I think he needs to be slotted in somewhere around 7-8

From earlier this morning.

From Grant:

Hit Leonys Martin leadoff: Martin is a prodigious talent who has shown little, if any, grasp of the nuances of the game in his nearly three seasons in the majors. When his talent is on display, it’s a beautiful thing to watch. When he’s asked to make baseball decisions, well, hide your wives and hide your kids.

The leadoff spot is as much about the latter as the former, so he’s likely to have some ugly games there. But there is no greater education in the majors than experience, and that’s a sentiment Ron Washington often espouses. Put him there, leave him there and work with him daily on philosophy and approach.

In the long term, a capable Martin at the top of the order means the Rangers can hit Choo second, Adrian Beltre third, Fielder fourth and Alex Rios fifth in 2015. Now that’s a stout start to a lineup.

Pull Martin off the field when necessary: If the Rangers had a class yearbook, Martin would be named player “Most Likely to be Fined by the Manager.” He has continued to miss cutoff men and been reminded about the issue. He has run through stop signs and been reminded about the issue. He has missed signs and been reminded about the issue. However the Rangers are reminding him hasn’t gotten the point across. It may be time for tougher love. Washington has never pulled a player off the field, and it is an embarrassing moment, but gentler, kinder approaches haven’t worked yet. Maybe embarrassment will.

Neil Ramirez is closing tonight. In 15 innings given up 6 hits and 1 run on a homer. 24 K's and 4 BB's. Didn't see that coming. Just gave up leadoff double off of wall.
