Man, the A's just seem to be in his head an he can't them out. Seems like it throws him off his game.

Really, really sad news about Richard Durrett's passing. He was one of the few ESPN columnists I had respect for, and he had an obvious love and enthusiasm for the team and the game. Plus by all accounts he was a super nice guy. I just was reading his column about Rios that he wrote last night on my lunch break today. So strange to think he's gone now.

He tweeted 9 hours ago about the Rangers signing Pena. It really is crazy.

He'd announce he would be at certain Buffalo Wild Wings during Ranger Games when he had these chats, Will. I met him twice. Still shaking my head over this. Puts things in perspective.

We really got to hold it here... should be 2 outs and no one on.

It absolutely does put things in perspective and serves as a sobering reminder to us all. I'm in my mid-30's and in pretty decent shape. Yet Durrett's passing just proves that I or any one of us could go at any given time. Life really is too short and often unpredictable. We anguish over the Rangers and other sports teams, often to the point that it becomes our primary focus of the day. But his early passing just shows what's really important. At least his life, albeit short, was filled with family and a profession he clearly loved.

Durrett was a good writer, he will be missed. I see that Darvish gave up 5 walks to the A's. I wish we would quit throwing him against Oakland.

You take out a pitcher that's rested and is doing his job for a pitcher that's been overworked lately and this is what you get. Hey, it was R/R though. That's the most important thing.
