Soria & Feliz say hello. (eventhough neither have pitched yet this year)

"even though neither have pitched yet this year". Meanwhile Scheppers will have.

Soria maybe. Feliz 4-seam has little movement and lacked confidence in his offspeed pitches when he was in a late inning role. Even at the top of his game he's given up some real shots when teams get used to him. Scheppers 4-seam has considerable movement and high confidence in his breaking ball.

I remain of the opinion that Scheppers has the better tools and based on what we have seen so far were Nathan to go down moving Scheppers to closer would hardly miss a beat even this year.

Or second half 2013.

Al ... well I would have said that too except there are so many who think since he has 12-0 that he is unbeatable. Past performance no guarantee of future results caveat.

Perhaps it is just his nervous mannerisms and more and more routine wobbling ... but I think you could clearly be right.

Even odds as to who is closer on 1 September ... Nathan, Scheppers or maybe even Soria.

Scheppers on the mound staring in reminds me of an Old West gunslinger. Would complete that picture with a Rollie Fingers mustache. He'd come in to pitch wearing a black hat ... the ball boy bringing out his Rangers hat before he warms up.

Need a closer with the passion and presence of Al (The Mad Hungarian) Hrabosky. That kind of guy.

CJ tried to look tough as a closer ... all he could do though was pull his hat brim down so you couldn't see his eyes. Then when he threw and missed he'd lift up his left leg and turn around and look at the mound like he'd stepped in a hole. He still does it. So does Derek Holland ... perhaps its a lefty thing. Same sort of move I make when I scull a pitching wedge and blow the ball about 80 yards over the green.

CJ was not an Al Hrabosky. But then neither is Joe Nathan.
