Pierce will out produce both combined. Be that Gio and White or White and White.
He sure could, I honestly don't expect a ton out of either of em.

As thing sit today, the only rookie RB 's I expect anything at all of note out of are Walker, Algeier, Hall, and Pierce.
Obviously injuries, camp standouts..could change that significantly.

Analysts are really high on Cook, but for what? To take Moss' place? Third down role? I'll put my money on Singletary. I think a lot of people missed how impressive he was once he was given the rock.

For some homerism….

I love DS Motor (Singletary), and was begging for that second half role for a while. But now he’s on his last year contract-wise, and the staff tried to sign McKissic then pivoted to Duke Johnson, and drafting Cook.

I think we should prepare for some changes in passing downs…but that depends on Cook’s skills more than Motor’s.

Counter would be last year of contract = run and catch him into the ground.

SO Kyler Murray's shiny new 2nd most guaranteed money ever contract, has a nice little clause in it..'the independent study clause"

Within this clause, Kyler must spend a minimum 4 hours a week in film study. the mandatory meetings and sessions do not count as part of this requirement. Also, Kyler cannot engage in any distracting activity during his film study sessions, including- video games, surfing the web, watching TV..etc..

Side note- in 2021 Kyler told the NYTimes that he doesn't need to study film because- “I think I was blessed with the cognitive skills to just go out there and just see it before it happens........I’m not one of those guys that’s going to sit there and kill himself watching film. I don’t sit there for 24 hours and break down this team and that team and watch every game because, in my head, I see so much.”

Failure to comply with this clause could result in a default condition which could void his guarantees or possibly even the entirety of the contract.

So, translation, Kyler Murray doesn't watch film and when he does, he's not actually watching, he's playing Madden, or otherwise screwing off, and we're sick and tired of it.

Ouch....

most D1 programs have 'study table' hours or some similar type of program, where athletes have to go to a room and sit at a table for so many hours per week to prove that they are student-athletes and not just athletes. one of many reasons I butted heads with the track coaches in college and quit running for the school team. I had multiple academic scholarships and walked onto the team...I didn't need their "help" with my studies.

if memory serves, my college didn't have a requirement per athlete, but only a totals sports team requirement, so the track and field guys were mandatory 15 or 20hrs per week to cover for the football and basketball players

gotta love the NCAA!

I can somewhat see the logic in it, especially given all the controversy over whether these "student athletes" are actually attending classes and earning the grades/degrees, or just maintaining eligibility through other means. Sucks for those that are doing it the right way and don't need to spend 20 hours a week in study hall or whatever, though.

My collegiate athletic career was D3 level and no one gave a rats ass either way, lol. But I never needed that kind of time studying to make decent grades either

But at the professional level, having to have it put into the contract? that's a little eyebrow raising IMHO

I guess the Browns aren't the only ones wanting an adult at quarterback.
