It's a 1 year deal and the value hasn't been disclosed yet. Clearly we need depth at the position but we're not in great shape financially. I still think S & OG are our main concerns. A veteran at RB would be nice too. I don't have faith in Pead which means if Richardson is hurt we'd be in a huge hole.

 Fastforward, it will be Stacy by the 3rd week if not out of training camp. Pead won't make the cut. I think the Rams will bring in a vet as the cuts go on:nod:

I agree blue. Good to see you again. I think Pead screwed the pooch royally by getting behind last year and then getting himself suspended messin' around with drugs this year. This will be Snead and Fisher's first bust. Simply not worth a second and this will be more fuel for SJ76 who was screaming for the Rams to take other better players in last year's draft. And rightly so in this case. Pead has never made the Pro transition and just appears not equipped to make the grade. Stacy will step in and be the guy with Richardson.

Blue, I also am intrigued by our new fullback, Eric Stevens. I want to see how he and Ganaway fit as RB/FB along with Stacy and Richardson. Ought to be interesting!!

The only thing that worries me about Richardson is that he is too soft to be an every down back. He isn't a guy you want around the goal line or on 3rd down at all. Stacy looks like an every down back.

:10::agree:Yea Stacy will be the every down back by the 6th week with spells from Richardson in between the 20s. retro Stevens is interesting, the running back situation is a puzzle and what Fisher goes with, trailing camp will be interesting.

Yea Blue. Stevens is a big dude and so is Ganaway. Stevens replaces Miller. Stevens goes at 6'0 250lbs and Ganaway goes at 6'1, 242lbs. That is one helluva backfield. Must be the jumbo package!! I want to see how Fisher and Shottenheimer uses both along with a Stacy, Richardson rotation.

Witherspoon will provide good depth to all 3 positions for us. If I recall correctly, didn't he play MLB when he was with the Panthers?

As far as our RB situation goes, I'm not sure if I can discount Pead even with his suspension. He has the tools to be a starting RB. Hopefully this off-season he has learned the playbook and has improved immensely. He got busted for pot the summer he was drafted, so I'm hoping he's learned from his mistake.

IDK DK7000. He's walking a thin line right now and he'd better have a monster camp or he may be on the cut list come September.

From everything I've read, Fisher is giving him a shot to win the starting role even with his one game suspension. I think after his arrest last summer and the struggles he experienced, Pead understands (or at least I hope he does) what it takes to be a professional in this league.

Spooooooooooooon!

(force of habit)

Its funny that we traded him for Brandon Gibson, he leaves and Spoon comes back. He should have at least one or two years left in the tank. Urlacher was good till 34 and Lewis till 37

Yea Clayton, from what I am hearing, Spoon has a lot left in the tank. Urlacher is toast because his knees are shot. We shall see if Witherspoon holds water and captures a roster spot!
