Bullock does a good job. As you can see from the Miami game the Redskins (I am sure with Callahan's help) have added some wrinkles. So comparing last year to this year is sort of apples to oranges. Not to mention there are two new lineman for the Skins. Still, Rams have one hell of a DLine. It should be interesting .... I hope.

Like most I rooted for the Rams last week but no way do I want our trade to set them up like the Vikes set up the Cowboys. So I will root for them to lose for this reason. Well that and because I am a petulant little dick.

I'd forgotten about some of these odd ball occurrences. Tend to think of strange things happening during NFCE games but we've had some bizarre meetings with the Rams

Reasons I see the Skins winning.

1. After last years whopping and Fisher's "gamesmanship" with the team captains, I can see the Skins having more of an attitude for this game than the Rams.

2. The Rams could be overconfident, beating the Seahawks gets you good press, reading too much into it can bring over confidence.

3. The Rams coming off an emotional high for divisional win, can the Rams really sustain the same energy for a non divisional game.

4. Road game for the Rams, record is bleak this last decade, road winning percentage is even bleaker.

Redskins 24 Rams 17

Just my :2cents:

Another interesting article from Jerry Brewer. Quickly becoming one of my favorite columnists.

Excerpt

The Seahawks have transformed into one of the smaller defenses in the league while still playing just as physical. New Washington tight end Anthony McCoy had been with the Seahawks since his former USC coach, Pete Carroll, took over in 2010. Ask him to compare the Redskins’ toughness to how the Seahawks play, and his answer is rather unexpected.

“There ain’t a real big difference, to be honest,” said McCoy, who has a reputation as a strong run blocker. “It’s not just how physical you are. Every team in the NFL is physical. They all bring it in this league. But to be above and beyond and stand out in that area, I think it’s more about how you channel it. I think it just takes everybody being on the same page. You’ve got to play for the man next to you. That’s how we did it with the Seahawks. It’s not just what you’re playing for. It’s who you’re playing for. There’s nothing more powerful than being connected and committed to each other and fighting on the same side. That’s when a physical style becomes punishing. I see some of that developing here. We’re real close, a tight-knit group.”

Stage 1 of imposing your physical will: Earn the respect of every opponent. That’s what the Rams have done during their long rebuilding. That’s what the Redskins must do.

Stage 2: Build a team of gifted players who trust each other so implicitly that it delivers the heaviest possible punches every Sunday. That’s the dream, one that both Gruden and McCloughan have seen materialize at previous stops.

When you get to that level, opponents know better than to taunt during the coin toss.

That's a good article Cali. As fans we all want to win on game day but I think in SM's mind this year is about finding a base of players he can add to and play hard nosed physical football. Last week was a good start for the OL and DL and I think both performed well. Let's see if that can continue. In my mind the Ram's are going to present a very tough test and with DJax out I think the offense is much easier to defend.
