Anyone else concerned that Scherff only put up 23 reps at the combine?? its almost like he didn't train for it which isn't a good sign. I think the WR White put up 23 as well. I was really high on him till that.
Yes and no. Its only 12 reps off the best showing. However, it's 34% less than the best showing.Anyone else concerned that Scherff only put up 23 reps at the combine?? its almost like he didn't train for it which isn't a good sign. Not really, it's just part of the picture, I don't think he will be doing 2 reps on the field, let alone 23. You take your chances just like we always have. In recent times we have missed on Smith and Barron, Saffold has been ok, and Robinson has played fairly well. Olineman seem to be more hit or miss for some reason, but we need to take the chance and hope to hit more than miss this year!

I'm with Coug and Retro on Scherff. For some reason I have the same aloofness to Scherff that I have toward Amari Cooper. Can't explain it. I'm just not drawn to these two.
Not concerned at all. If he falls to us @ 10 we are crazy if we don't take him. If you are concerned about his strength, well then all I can say is that he is a freak and you obviously haven't seen this video......enjoy;

I did see that Zeke and thats why i was shocked at only 23 reps at the bench press which i would think would be a better test for linemen. I'm sure there was a reason maybe he skipped breakfast haha
I think Free Agency is at a point where Barksdale might come cheaper than Wiz because Seattle is closing in on Wiz and that would cause a bidding war on an injury prone (iirc) guy at C. Most likely Wiz is going to Seattle.
The draft also seems to be loaded with RT and G prospects with no C prospects in sight unless you count Erving and his 4 or 5 dominant games at Center. Dismukes isn't even in the same time zone in terms of upside. Erving hit 7 more on the bench with arms that are 2 inches longer. Thats a massive difference in NFL strength. Scherff and Collins have the combines of RT prospects even thought most people were putting them at G based on tape. Scherff and Erving also come from zone blocking schemes which means they might be learning a little bit of spanish coming into the NFL. None of these guys scream top 10 pick. Barksdale's arms are 2 1/2" longer than Scherff and Collins and Barksdale has experience. It doesn't make a lot of sense to take a tweener G/T if you have a cheap RT right there waiting for you.
So if the Rams take Barksdale then I think they'll be looking at trading down for Erving or taking a WR. The value at pick 10 is definitely going to be at WR unless teams trade up ahead of the Rams.
Former Falcon guard Justin Blalock is pretty guaranteed to be a Ram, with Snead and Boudreau connection not to be ignored. You have to think Barksdale resigns. Leaving the center position to the draft, among some other depth options.
