I like the trade for Fowler. We didn’t give up anything too high in the draft. I saw that ESPN didn’t think much of it but I’m thinking maybe a change of scenery might do him some good. Just hope that he can stay healthy.
With the trade (which I believe was a steal) and the cutting of Jamon Brown (who never really got out of Drama Queen mode) we improve our defense and we elevate our offense because Blythe is having a Pro Bowl year. We also have other younger, talented O-Lineman that McVay and Snead like that letting Brown go was a no-brainer.
Brown was continually making mistakes and when he went illegal with his recent shananigans, that was the proverbial piece of straw that broke a loaded-down camel's back. He may return, but I think Brown may be another GRob in the making.
Fowler is going to be like so many other talented players who have come to the McVay system and have experienced a revival of their careers. That is what McVay does. He creates winners by unleashing these players' talents. Look at Suh and Whitworth. They are going to be Rams players for quite a while I believe.
The more I watch AD, the more I am warming-up to the notion that this guy, like Whitworth, is worth every dime we are paying him. He is going to be a longtime Rams player, I now believe. Count me in on that notion because unlike many players that get the big bucks, Donald is oldschool and he is actually getting even better doing the little things to make his teammates better which is the classic definition of a superstar.
Watching that vid of AD that was posted gets me so fired-up I want to go out to the garage and throw forearm shivers into the walls!! One Badass dude!!!
lol one of my best buds told me that he thought S. Barkley was the best back in the NFL.... I almost lost a friend there for a moment; had to tell him about him self. Barkley is good but he's no Gurley at least not yet.
I've been hearing that here in NY since Barkleys second game. Not just from people, but articles in the local newspapers proclaiming him as possibly the best back in the NFL
“It drives me nuts when people say that you’re going all in to win the Super Bowl this season,” Snead told Steve Wyche of NFL.com. “You’re going all in to maybe give you a millimeter, centimeter, an upper hand.
“Building through the draft leads to sustainability. You’ve also been able to watch what a team like New England’s done. They’ve used draft picks, but they’ve also used picks to make trades. They’ve used free agency. Your whole goal is to acquire players that are going to help Sean McVay and his staff execute in any way possible.”
Yep, yep, some people are stupid enough to believe that this year is an all in scenario. Wrong! We are building something incredible here.
