Who is replacing that turn style Notebum?

Rams would've needed to use that Avila pick to get a worthy OT replacement, as all the good ones were taken in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Developmental OT could be had later (like the Rams' pick McClendon), but Noteboom appears to be safe for now unless Alaric Johnson or AJ Arcuri can step up to win the job.

I am hoping Jackson can beat Noteboom out. Question is, if he does, does McVay have the guts to sit Noteboom with how much they are paying him.

Had he not got injured, I think Jackson would've locked down the LT spot last season. He certainly looked better than Noteboom in the games he played.

His cap hit is $6.5M this year, and if they want they can get out from under his contract this winter for $15M in dead cap.

If you think he's the guy for the future, you lock him up. Hopefully he shows better this season than last.
At one point in particular, like the playoff game Whitworth was out, he looked good and the future.

But he has always had the injury label.

And when you can’t rely on the guy to stay on the field, you don’t give him a big contract.

Whit hardly missed a game. Note barely plays in games. That’s the difference.

Potential doesn’t mean jack when you can’t stay healthy ( ie Lewis ).

Notebook is not the answer at LT. Before he tore the Achilles, he was already slow of feet as speed bull rushers routinely beat him. He may start the year but Jackson will be the LT at the end of the year.

yeah but he is not, against Von Miller he didn't even put up an effort, in general Bull rushers and blowing past this guy. Another bad signing, the FO needs to get this position together!

Result of all those draft pick trades, perhaps the most glaring, was the inability to upgrade at LT. McClendon is a decent depth draft pick, but if he ever starts I would assume it would be RT after Havenstein.

There were a couple of big tackles available in the 3rd they could’ve taken, but chose to take small defensive guys instead.

Not guys that could step right in. Maybe Bergeron (picked 2 spots after Avila), but he's being projected inside by many. Mauch is projected inside, Sheen is likely a RT, etc. After Bergeron, they're all projected inside, RT only or developmental.

Of course, the Rams could've taken that risk (and still could with McClendon).

This wasn't a big OT draft, especially LT. No, the Rams will go with Jackson after Notebook gets shown the door and wait for 2024. They can always bring in Lewan who is still out there. There are also some Broncos FAs being cut loose by the new HC one of which I believe is a LT.

The Broncos Rypien is another good QB pick-up. The Rams don't need anymore QBs after Rypien is signed.

Perkins follows A-Rob to the Geeants on an invite. Camp Arm. The Geeants will make him a RB. Our three QBs for the season will be: Stafford, Rypien, and Bennett.
