not a bad move if we did sign him.... i'm on the fence though-- being the clay of old sure but the long in the too one not so much. However if it's just to pass rush then i can dig it. We need to address the NT position, throw some picks, buffet table, kitchen sink, anything you can find to get that kid from Clemson.

Looks like McVay maybe moving on from Mannion. McVay has made it known that he is not pleased with Mannion as a back-up and maybe making moves to remedy that including drafting a QB this year. Bortles is coming to town for a visit. Apparently Bortles is a little better than Mannion but not by much.

Report: Rams to meet with QB Blake Bortles on Monday

Also, if we lose Malcolm Brown to FA (Lions are talking to him) which may occur, I suspect McVay is going to draft a few RBs because we have done little to snap-up any of the FA RBs.

Mannion was definitely a Fisher guy. I'm sure he'll stick around as a 3rd stringer somewhere. Saying Bortles is better than Mannion I think is damning with faint praise.

I would go the draft route for RB's. A lot less miles on those guys and you can usually pick up some good ones in the mid to late rounds.

Bortles could be a good pickup as our backup...... A vet with something to prove would be nice if(GOD FORBID!!!)Goff got hurt. Plus he could possibly help Goff with his experience.

Yes they need to sign Anderson but maybe are waiting to see what Brown does. I think they need to retain both of them in case Gurley has more problems with his knee. If you can't run you can't pass or play action.

Gurley may indeed be done if his knee doesn't respond to the stem cell treatments.

Man that is a surprise. Pittsburgh is going to get an un-Pittsburgh-like football player who will give-up more yards than he defends. Good luck.

I'm okay with Bortles... he had a couple of decent seasons but that is more than what that scrub Mannon has done. Scratching my head as to why CJ hasn't been resigned.
