Apparently he's become the VP of business development, which they're saying is mostly ceremonial. Not sure that's a smart move.

I don't see the logic in making Dickerson a face of the organization when he has been a vocal critic and malcontent.
Okay, I get it. I don't agree, but I do understand what you were saying now.

I am not sure the conclusions being drawn here are legitimate especially in light of many former players dating back to Fred Dreyer, Kurt Warner, Jack Youngblood, Vince Ferragamo, Torry Holt, Marshall Faulk, and D'Marco Farr to name a few voiced their opinions about the crappy state of the once-proud Rams franchise. All of these "critics" want the Rams to be that proud and great franchise it once was when they played and perennially, it was winning the NFC West, and making attempts at Superbowls.

I think the perfect place for these guys to exercise influence in those exact ways is some position with the club. I welcome Dickerson's input in the capacity that he is assuming and it was pretty cool for him to come back and retire as a Ram. After all, don't forget, the QUEEN IDIOT got rid of Dickerson when he just wanted to be paid and he wanted to finish his career with the Rams. Something similar to what they are doing with AD right now.

Also, many in the "business" attribute the Marshall Faulk trade to the Rams back in the day to ED. We all know what happened with that influence and result.

I think it's one thing if Dickerson was able to keep his comments and criticisms behind closed doors in his new role. But he's never been shy about giving his opinion publicly. With his role as an analyst on FS1, I don't see how he can be relied upon to keep his mouth shut about the state of the team if they are struggling or if a player is not performing up to par. That kind of personality and ego could be very toxic in the front office. I'm not sure that's the kind of distraction and drama a new head coach should have to deal with.

That could be stated about a number of ex-players occupying roles in the present franchise state.

I don't believe you can, especially on Dickerson's level. He has gone out of his way to partake in the drama and I don't think that is the kind of person you want representing the organization.

You could be right RamsFan88 and only time and the actions he provides during his tenure will play out.

I guess you see it as partaking in the drama, I see it as calling as he sees it. Sometimes truthful opinions are not pretty, but they call that constructive criticism in most circles.

I certainly don't agree with his 'Mannion should be the Starter' take but I think he truly believes that is the best option for the Rams, so his different opinion just provides thought to a viable option, and is certainly worthy of conversation.

He is going to have to learn to keep his criticism of the team or coaches within the organization and not bring it to the public. I hope he does, but his track record speaks for itself.

Calling a shitty team shitty while Fisher was being a bad coach and the FO has been decent at best with all those picks isn't all bad in my eyes as a fan.

I think it's more of a "turning the page" in a lot of ways.

I'm as critical as Dickerson has been at times about my Rams. Lets face it, we have been in a Fisher nightmare for 5 seasons and we sucked for years even before the Fish slumped into town. I like Eric and I am happy to see him retire as an LA Ram. Maybe his criticism was one of the things that finally got Fisher booted off the team. He has passion for the team, he cares and that's a good thing. Welcome Home Eric!

Not close means AD is asking for a contract that will use up all of the cap space for a DT.

I say screw him, let's get him traded and move on.

I don't think All Pro Bowl level at DT is necessary in Wade's 3-4 with all of his stunts, but he has a lot of value for teams running a 4-3.

Trade his ass and let's see if the team he gets traded to ponies up the record setting, cap killing deal.

the bigger question is, is how long wade wants to coach?

The Rams are now making a bigger effort to sign AD. This is rapidly presenting AD and his agent as greedy bastards. I am beginning to favor the sentiment of Vita and others that expressed that this dude is rapidly using up his welcome and we should trade his selfish ass and move along.

This is a change for me because I was with the camp that was for keeping talented players and slowing the developing mentality. The lines have begun to become one-sided when AD has done nothing to move closer to signing a deal. Too bad, some team may give up the farm for this guy and I am beginning to believe that McVay and company could really put together a even better team with the bounty we could potentially haul in for this dude!

Rams flew to Atlanta to meet with Aaron Donald's reps in person
