This game opened up with an explosion and we all watched in shock as Austin took a gimmick play and turned it into a 65-yard TD beginning to fulfill the expectations Snead and Fisher had for picking him 8th overall. We also saw for the first time in 13 years, the Rams O scoringmore than 20 points in back-to-back games. Man this was a fun game to watch as the talent is beginning to develop and the scheme by Fisher is beginning to click making him look like a genius. The defense again played a great game and it is safe to state, we are watching this team take on the persona of Jeff Fisher and the '85 Bears as we are playing smashmouth football on offense running the ball, with a crushing smothering defense and a solid STs with a game-managing but gritting back-up QB.

On Offense. The positives. There were plenty of kudos here. Starting with the O-line that have been playing exceptionally well since the move of Saffold to right guard and Barksdale to a permanent fixture at right tackle. They committed very few mistakes giving up a sack and 1 penalty today and this has been a pattern for the last couple of games. A mere pittance in mistakes compared to years past. They opened up huge running lanes over the guards spots with Saffold, Smith and Williams doing the dirty work. B. Cunningham had a huge day going 13 carries for 109 yards and Stacy going 12 carries for 87 yards before going out with a concussion. We finished the day with 80 carries rushing for a whopping 258 yards including one of the first plays in the first quarter of Tavon going 65 yards on a gimmick play. They blocked very well for Clemens who finished the day 10/22 for 148 yards and kept him upright and forming a nice pocket for Clemens to step into. The WRs and TEs had a great day both in blocking on a play that set Austin loose for 65 big yards (Pettis and Givens, great downfield blocks) and catching with Cook being high man with 4 catches for 80 yards. We also saw Stedman Bailey come into the game and make a drive-saving big 18 yard snag. This guy is going to be a great one!

The negatives. Except for a few penalities and krappy throw by Clemens, there is not much here.

On Defense. Where do I start? We not only have the fearsome foursome, we have the fearsome eightsome. The front eight D-lineman are playing the best football in the league IMO. They owned Chicago's O-line from the beginning. A ten-play defensive stand in the third quarter was absolutely phenomenal aided by a rookie screw-up sensation that being Rodney McGee holding 3 times in a row. They kept Chicago out of the endzone for nearly 25 minutes. Quinn had a sack and a fumble recovery for a TD, Long had pressures and disruptions all day long. Brockers and Langford stepped up as did Hayes, Sims, and Cudjo in our so-called second unit. Laurinaitus had one fumble and 7 unassisted tackles and Olgetree was high man with 11 unassisted tackles today. That dude is going to be a great one. Jo-Lunn Dunbar had a big day and McLeod got himself an INT to boot. This bunch is really becoming BAD-FREAKIN'-ASS!!! JJ and T.Johnson played great all day until Trumaine sustained a concussion and McLeod is quietly becoming a pretty good Safety. It was nice to see the return of TJ MacDonald today as well.

The negatives. Two words. Rodney McGee. The man made the same holding mistakes three times in a row. First holding Marshall on a deep ball to put Chicago at the one and then later the D held the Bears for three plays and he pulled the same stunt twice more to keep Chicago's chances of scoring alive to which they finally did. This dude has to get some serious help and I guess it is the same rookie mistakes we watched with everyone else. I suppose he'll get better like everyone else. Other than that, another great day by the D scoring TDs and just plain kicking ass keeping us in the game!!!

Special TEams. The positives. Zuerlein added 2 field goals and the STs did not commit any penalties and that is a good day.

The negatives. Hekker was off today and almost cost us a score with a flat punt that Hester ran back for a TD and except for a holding call that nullified the run back, the outcome might have been closer.

Onward we go to the hated Whiners. We owe these guys an asswhoopin' and it is entirely doable with the way we are playing. I think C. Long will get the guys pumped for that game and if we can keep the mistakes to a minimum and play like we did in Indy, we have a very good chance of securing three in a row!!!

Who cares anymore? They can pay it. A win is a win. I didn't get to watch a lot but the team looked good. Defense did a lot of swarming and the ground game was strong.

That is the half of it Mutigers. The D was kicking ass and taking names later. The hit Brockers laid on McGowin and was wrongfully flagged was a beatdown of epic proportions along with Quinn and the other seven. They were so dominant, the holding along the Chicago O-line was so blatant that anyone with one eye could see they were holding on nearly every play. I'll take that kind of smashmouth ballin' any day. Period!

Congrats on the W Rams fans.

You guys have a lot to look forward too. A lot of talent on this team. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm also glad to hear Chris Williams is (at least somewhat) panning out for you in the guard spot. He never caught a break with the Bears. Always injured, etc...

Anyway, good win. And man... the Bears front seven is really gawd awful, isn't it? lol, Briggs, Ratliff, and Paea can't come back soon enough. Somehow we're still tied for first in this special olympics race for gold in the NFC North :L

Absolutely not!

It's looking more and more like a go.

The one buddy of mine is hurting for some live Rams football and with him it's a go! Go's by the email address of 'TheLosAngelesRamsFamily'!

The other dude, with the Toyota Prius, is out of town however got my phone message and since he didn't say he couldn't go means he just needs to clear it with wifey.

Once I work out the details, I'll fill you in....

Either way, I know we need to get the tics going soon!

Could be one of the worst calls in league history....

Not exaggerating one bit!

The league should be offering up an extreme apology, not a fine and should be thankful it wasn't a game changing 'bad call', IMO!! :suds:

Again, as I have said, these big wins will mean nothing if we are not even competitive in our upcoming games against quality teams.

Some people on here were "impressed" by our win against Houston, it was a good win, but I wasn't impressed. Houston is a mess right now, they lost to Jacksonville at home! The Colts have looked horrible the past few weeks, and the Bears haven't looked that good either. The Colts and Bears are two of the worst run defenses in the league.

It's all good, and I love the fact that we are doing what we need to do against bad defenses, but until we do it against SF, and Seattle (with their key oline players), we still don't really know what we have. And that doesn't include the fact that Arizona is playing alot better defense. We have our work cut out for us the rest of the year!

I agree with that, I never wanted Lovie gone. The team falling off down the stretch in 2011 and 2012 was rough, but there really wasn't anything he could do about it.

I didn't want Lovie gone, but I also like Trestman. So, I've moved on. I don't mind the transition to an offensive minded coach in today's game. There's a lot of talent on offense here. Our relatively new GM built this offense in two years. We're hoping he can do the same now on the other side of the ball.

And who knows? Get healthy down the stretch here, and this is still anyone's division in the north. My expectations are extremely low, so I suppose I can only be pleasantly surprised.

Good luck to you guys. Go knock off San Fran next week. :suds:
