I was out driving around some this morning and heard this from Cooley. Marvin Lewis is going to retire at the end of the year (his choice or he will be asked to.)

Paul Guenther is the DC. According to Cooley he and Jay are tight. Cooley thinks there is a chance he could be the next DC here. According to Cooley this comes from someone he knows on the Bengals. Could be 100% rumor.

I know little about him. All know is Marvin Lewis was one hell of a DC before becoming a HC.

It makes sense. If we do make the playoffs don't you think Barry's job is safe? I want him gone but its just my opinion he would survive if we make it to the post season.

that's right cincy is a 4-3 team. Then that wouldn't make sense from a football prospective.

Yeah, Guenther has been a 4-3 guy in the mold of Mike Zimmer. Thing is we are in 4-3 more often than we are in 3-4.

It isn't that far off of what he does. He likes A gap stunts with only two LBers on passing downs. He will bluff out of that and send guys from other positions. Think Su'a Cravens blitzing the A gap or coming from safety. Guenther also prefers press-man. I think BB is better used in man than zone and I think Norman is good either way. Right now on passing downs we often use Kerrigan, Murph or Smith as DEs and until he was hurt Compton and Craven's as the only LBers. (nickel D)

There are lots of things we could do with our OLBs. Make them down lineman, play strong side OLB.

A draft something like dad just posted would help (potentially) We would need a DT, a MLB and a safety. Things we need whether we are 3-4 or 4-3. I prefer aggressive defense, blitzing, man cover. :2cents:
