Not great. Today, Stevens said he had a great practice, but after just felt "off". So he's day-to-day again. Groin is no joke, and is sort of just his thing now
Unfortunately quick wasn't going to make or break this season anyways...just one more indication this group is nearing the end. Time to move some guys starting with stevens
One player turned lots of franchises around (Pittsburgh, Chicago, NYI, Tampa Bay in the last 15 or so years), the last time the Kings had a pick like that was Doughty. Granted, they had some pieces in place already in Kopitar and Brown but a high pick could be the start of a new run in time.
I think the Kings need to see how things go between now and Thanksgiving. If it's obvious Campbell isn't the answer, the team is still sucking ass, I think it's safe to start making moves to get ride of veterans, gain cap space and picks and let the youth play.
They should really look at Quick being hurt as a change to rebuild.
Unload Pearson, Toffoli, Martinez, maybe Muzzin. Go for the #1 pick as well as adding draft pieces or bringing in some young, fast talent for the Vets you trade.
With as much as Quick has been hurt the past few seasons, really think its time to draft or trade for his successor.
ya, Quick was rode into the ground....its beginning to really show IMO. Sad but its probably only downhill from here for him as he gets less flexible and not as "quick". Carter could be another problem due to that last injury, part of his success was his surprising speed and that doesn't seem to be there now. I would be willing to put most anyone on the table at this point as there are a lot of great looking young players on teams looking to get that last push for a cup....I would look at doing that for as many of these guys as possible
