QMJHL - What's that line

I am watching the Q on NHL Network right now and both zones have a line going across the ice at the tops of the circles.


What is that for?

I was thinking it would be perfect for squirt age kids like my son's team to know how far the D are allowed to go in on the attack. But these guys should know that.

/There is no hybrid icing in the WHL, they have gone the automatic no-touch icing route.

Yeah, unfortunately there's not a lot of tread left on those tires. Somebody else needs to step up and give the captain a hand (maybe Sven Baertschi is the guy, but he's a winger). They need a young center badly.

The only positive part of the lockout is there is a distinct drop off in the amount of whining that Ruff is doing about something.

At least that we hear.

I am sure at this very minute he's at a Denny's absolutely screaming that he didn't get enough Bananas on his nannerpuss and how it's a complete conspiracy.

But Roy leaving might be positive. Since Ruff's definition of "Penalty" is "Someone in my team's jersey fell down" I get the sense that there won't be a lot of "missed calls" in his mind whenever the next season happens, if you catch my drift.

Frk is Wings property I believe.

As for McKinnon, if the Isles were lucky enough to get the 1st pick BARF would probably pass on McKinnon.

Besides I thought everyone already knew that Edmonton has this lottery thing down pat??

Most Q rinks don't have that line. In fact that is probably the only one. When I use to play there were a few old rinks that had them and I always wondered what the deal was. I think I heard somewhere that it was for ringuette.

AFAIK all 3 major junior hockey leagues use the automatic no touch icing rule.
