gke.... in 7 years between here and the mouse, has there EVER been a Redskins player you didnt want to lowball or consider was actually worth the going rate for a starter at his respective position when it came time to resign some one??

Here is my one and only thought. Do we as fans have faith in SM and Allen to choose the right person and to not over pay? Allen's strength is contracts, McCloughan's strength is personnel. Why is everyone fretting? Oh yeah!! It's a forum. :thumb:

Exactly - agree 100%. At the end of the day our opinions will not factor into any decisions. Also - as I pointed out elsewhere - it is not simply a matter of a yearly cap figure. Contracts can be structured in a variety of ways to protect the team & Allen (as you mention) is one of the best in this area. If one of the past decision makers were the primary one making these decisions at this point I would be very worried. However - with the the current FO I have none of these concerns & feel very confident that they will make wise and frugal choices.

How is it a low-ball to want to give RAK what he got?

How is it a low-ball to want to give Riley what he got?

I think you are mistaking low-ball for what you and others thought they were worth...not what the market dictated. KC will be another prime example.

This is a very important point. It's possible to overpay and be ok by nature of the structure of the deal. A non guaranteed contact shouldn't really bother anyone.

Scotty Mac's FA acquisitions haven't set the world on fire this year. Hell, they've barely caused a spark from my vantage point. Does that mean I have no confidence in him? No, and you have to wonder if its Joe Barry's bend and then break defense that's the biggest problem.

Going off the main point of this article. Need to Know: Redskins’ free agents bring playmaking ability they (the FA acquisitions) look really bad.

Agreed but I don't expect every move is going to pan out. Would have liked to see the D with Gallete and Nacho though. I would like to see less zone too. I know what he is trying to do but I prefer man or even better a combo D. I'd like to see more blitzing too. That's just me.

Yeah, I hear ya. I like to see significant more aggression than what the Skins defense displayed this year. The Skins defense was too reactionary this year as well as predictable. I can understand wanting to play safe, not give up big plays and all that, but the Skins played more scared, imo, than safe and gave up big plays anyway.

I like their FA acquisitions. No big contracts.
