Rather be team A.. like Megatron more than Marshall, and after week one's showing..McCoy may very well be better than Martin.

I'll be different here: Team B.

I think that Marshall has a legit shot at #1 WR this season, especially in PPR. Cutler has had a Marshall boner for years, and if you think Trestman's offense is bringing change, look at wk 1 line:
Cutler targeted Marshall on 10 of 33 passes
Marshall had 8rec, 104yds, 1TD
Rest of CHI receiving options: 13rec, 138yds, 1TD

trying hard here, but after watching wk1 games, can't really think of much of a reason to argue Martin over McCoy, especially in PPR. I guess, you have to think that the increased # of plays run not only = increased opportunity for yards/big plays, but also opens the door for increased chance of injury. That just seems like way too much of a reach though. McCoy looked amazing vs WAS, can't see why he couldn't repeat success next week at home vs SD. I expect to see more runs like Tate's than Foster's in that matchup.

Cris Carter in a radio spot Tuesday said the same exact thing. With the number of plays that coach Kelly is calling in such a fast pace, Carter predicted that McCoy (and Vick) may not make it to week 8 of the regular season.

Carter acknowledged that the Eagles looked impressive. But also said that NFL rosters are not as deep as college rosters. I thought I saw Vick limping towards the end of the game. And the Skins started to make a game of it at the end (RG3's rust was wearing off, and perhaps the Eagles were getting tired.)

As for the question on the trade... I've also read in preseason that the Lions want to focus more on the run game and don't want Stafford throwing as much. And it seems TB is not happy with Freeman which could open the door for more from Martin.

I'm not saying that I'm leaning toward team B but stranger things have happened in the NFL/FF. Just look at some of the week 1 story lines.

I think the Eagles and their fans would accept a "tired" offense every week if the other part of the sentence was "the other team started to make a game of it...".

I think another big part of it was the eagles had the game won and stopped playing at a lightning pace.

Bingo. And because the Redskins continued to huddle up and go read option through the entire 3rd quarter, the Eagles had no reason to do anything but run clock. It would have been a game if the Skins had actually tried to come back. In the third quarter however, they were playing as if the game had already been decided and the Eagles were too. The final score was in no way indicative of how the Eagles dominated the game.

You guys are making more touches sound like a bad thing. I will take McCoy over Martin all day right now. He is going to get more touches in a better offense and he is every bit as talented (maybe more). Could McCoy get hurt? Sure, but so could Martin.

Like monkey I too like B and here's why. Megatron had a dud week 1. He also had a dud for a good part of the first half last year. In fact the guy that had him in our league was out of it by the time Calvin started coming around. Becasue he was such a high pick it killed his team that Calvin started slow. Brandon on the other hand is like Boldin of recent. He gets all the love from Cutler. I wont be surprised if he has a 20 rec game at some point.

Now for Martin and McCoy. I have never been big on either guy and they have both proved me wrong but I still think McCoy at some point and not that I wish it on him will break down. I think you should take martin and marshall and go after bryce brown because he will be better than both martin and mccoy when mccoy goes down for the count.

Don't really know which side wins, but I think it's a pretty cool trade.

Well, increased plays means increased risk of injury in the normal way - the guy on the bench isn't going to be injured. The question is whether playing a ton of snaps in a single game has an additional effect - i.e. you're so tired by the end of the game that you make little physical or mental mistakes that increase your chance of injury. If you're in on 70 snaps, are you so toasted by the end that you don't get you don't get your shoulders down the way you need to, or your footwork gets sloppy?

It's interesting that McCoy is asking for fewer snaps.

So the whole Martin-Shady thing to me right now is kinda funny TBH. J-E-T-S defense has looked pretty damn good to me through 2 weeks so I'm gonna give Martin a pass there (even though he did score). Shady looked like a world beater no doubt but it's week 1! To me, right now that trade is a wash.
