They should pool all the suspension and fine money for 2012 and play for that on top of normal money. That would have to be a lot especially if you include Sean Payton's salary. And make it winner take all.

This is somewhat in jest so no one get their panties in a bind.

Thanks, I read that it was given to the player's choice, but obviously, that was wrong - since the quote in your second link says they are "told where the money goes" in their fine letter. If they got to choose, they would be asked where, not told. But the NFLPA may have a choice in the manner through talking to the league and proposals for charities. Also, the players can lobby for a particular charity if they want.

I know some people will have a problem with this, because the NFL gets to include this money on tax deductions and will publicize their contributions to make the NFL look good. But to me, it's better than going into their pockets and when I'm weighing "the NFL getting too much credit" vs. "charities getting less money," I'd rather the NFL get too much credit.

Yes. They can't be taxed on money they don't keep.

Who wants to see Eli throw TDs to Cruz? Or see Schaub throw to Andre Johnson... The idea of the Pro Bowl should be to show that these guys can be just as good with other QB/WR combinations.
