If only something like this was in place when Roger Staubach played for Navy.

Trump Looking At Waiver For Service Academy Athletes Who Go Pro

I think he would have to give them a choice of what they wanted to do if they went pro
ball first.

Obviously, such a move would greatly enhance their ability to recruit bigger kids that were within
the academy standards. Could get better skill players that were also intelligent and disciplined.

If a kid played less than 5 years as a pro he could enter the military after some refresher courses.
If he played more than 5 years or was injured where he couldn't serve military time, he would have
to repay the country for its free education.

He's going to school on a Congressional Appointment with the understanding that he/she will be
a military officer. If you opt out of that your final two years or turn pro, there has to be a
system in place to return the money.

The Military schools do not have scholarship restrictions, because every damn one of them is going
to school free. The NCAA would have to adjust that somehow.
