Same here. I really wanted to see him get drafted by the Bears, he was one of my early 'sleeper' picks. I thought he was a sure thing who would tear up the league. You guys get to see him a lot, what happened?

He was light in the ass last year and he fits as a 3-4 OLB better than a 4-3 DE. He didn’t get a ton of reps. When he did he didn’t flash much. He played a ton in the preseason but didn’t really flash until it was the 2nd half and the opponents better personnel was done for the day.

Smith right now looks like an undersized edge who is still learning basic pass-rushing techniques. He seems like a guy who got by with athleticism and now has to learn things like counter moves. I only watched the condensed highlights, but reports over the weekend were that he struggled to get off blocks even against backups deep into the final preseason game.
