17,553 out of 18,087 capacity for the first game. Not bad, we'll see how that holds up over the course of the preseason.

Who said anything about neutral? Try and walk to the MGM Garden before a game. 17k Kings fans line the walkway to the only entrance screaming while drinking adios mother fuckers. This after a Friday downing beers at Hogs. The call the walkway the guantlet. The Abs fans brave enough to go are booed heeded and secretly admired. I am too broke to go this year but it is a Kings tradition

I've made it to two of those games and I would say that is almost 100% correct, the games are on usually on a Saturday night, Oct 1 this year.

I can't say enough about the new owner, Terry and his wife Kim seem so passionate about this team and city it is so refreshing.

He has spent millions just on arena improvements like the players looker room (each locker has it's own ventilation system and blowers to dry off their equipment) He has built a players lounge with a huge fireplace and wide screen TV's so the can relax after games and practice.

A theater style video room for the coaches to show clips to the players on what they are doing right or wrong and also a huge kitchen where they can get something to eat. Buffalo is known for the "Party in the Plaza" outside the arena where the had tents so fans that can't get tickets can watch on large TV screen's and have a concession stand. He has built a permanent structure.

This is all good and his feeling is if you treat the players and fans right they will be loyal to the team and the players will work harder.

I just hope it translates to wins on the ice but only time will tell.

That's all very awesome to hear. So many owners treat their teams like an investment, a side hobby, or a status symbol. It's hard to find an owner with a passion for hockey and a passion for winning. It's a lot easier to stomach bad games or seasons, and a lot more fun when the team is winning when you know the owner is doing everything he can to make the franchise better.

Is this so players can spy on the hot on-ice female reporter a la Erin Andrews?

Man will they be disappointed on nights when Versus is covering the game.

Pittsburgh hasn't sold out...but when you charge the same amount for a pre-season game as a regular season game, you're asking a lot of your fanbase. Unless I'm being given the ticket, or it's insanely cheap, I'm probably not going (this is assuming I have the option of going to a regular season game. If I knew I couldn't go to regular season, I'd take the opportunity to go in pre-season.)
