If I knew for 100% certainty Nebraska would lose, I'd still watch it just to formulate my own opinion.

I think the spread is climbing because it's becoming more known that Paul and Martinez aren't playing.

Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez practiced Wednesday, assistant head coach/wide receivers coach Ted Gilmore said right after the workout.

However, it remains unclear whether Martinez, sidelined last week by a sprained right ankle and a sore toe on his left foot, will be available to play Saturday night in the Big 12 title game.

"Nothing changes there," Gilmore said. "Just like Bo (Pelini) and Wats (Shawn Watson) have been telling you, at game time, we'll all find out."

Asked if Martinez made it through the full practice, Gilmore said, "He did everything." Martinez, though, walked off the field with a protective boot on his left foot.

Nebraska assistant coaches were available to the media Wednesday. Head coach Bo Pelini isn't scheduled to address the media again until Friday.

Also on the injury front, senior wide receiver Niles Paul, who suffered a foot injury Nov. 23, is still tentatively projected to return for the bowl game, Gilmore said.

"We've been told it would be a four- or five-week deal," Gilmore said.

If we lose and the refs are part of the reason then I am gonna bitch............I didn't bitch after the Texas game, because Nebraska didn't do nearly enough to even come close to winning that one.

I bitched after the A&M game because everyone and their dog knows that was some bullshit. It's pretty bad when newspapers and tv stations all over the country are questioning those calls (or lack of calls on A&M).


With all that said, I don't think the refs will have anything to do with this game.
