So...some of these are hard to judge because...well, it's hard as fans to see who had the toughest comeback, or does the most humanitarian work, or is the best leader...but try your luck.

i'd be happy with your list...if mike green the disgrace weren't on it. i will be physically ill if he wins it. call me a purist, but i've seen his 'defensive' play and it's a LACKING.

okay, i'm being dramatic, but he really doesn't deserve it. i think keith runs away with it. and staal's pushing it.

When I look at the stats I think Staal is easily the winner. Although I think that award is won on name alone so it probably goes to Pavel even though he doesnt even play the PK.

i sorta agree...i think the main reason he's not on the PK is because he spends too many minutes on PP. he's a big goal contributor, so he can't be out on a lot of PK minutes, where as staal is the oppisite, huge PK contributor minimal PP contributor. i think staal is very very very close to being an annual candidate for the selke though.

Which should be the reason Pavel doesn't win. Staal is a defensive focused forward plain and simple and is very good at it. He has far and away more PK time than the other candidates put together. Not to mention he leads in almost all the defensive categories. I know most will focus on turnovers, but the TO leader from last season wasnt even a finalist for this award.

One award pix left off is the King Clancy award, and I just received word that this year's winner of the Clancy is Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes.

The King Clancy award is given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.

More than a few voting scribes have already come out and said that Sedin was their #1 pick. Can't really go wrong. NOT going to turn this into a Crosby/OV thing, but, the three names mentioned so far are indeed the three names up for MVP/MOP.

Sedin carried the Canucks, a team decimated by injuries on D, more than a fair share of injuries up front (including Daniel) and Bobby Lou was more often Bobby Poo. Hank kept on scoring and the Canucks kept on winning without Daniel. Washington didn't miss a beat when Ovechkin went down, the Caps kept on winning. As discussed many times on "the swamp", when Malkin went down so did the Pens. Your team winning without you and your team not being able to win without someone else isn't really MVP material.

According to this one article I read, Howard deserves the Calder, and it's not even close.

Color me surprised when I saw a pic of the writer wearing a Red Wings hat.

Yes, but the thread is called "Predict" the awards, not "Who Deserves" the awards. While I hope Sedin gets it, history has shown that players on Canadian and Western teams (not named Gretzky) are at a disadvantage to players on American and Eastern teams. All three have basically equal arguments in my eyes, so I think that favors the guys in the East - OV and Crosby.
