I agree. I have always liked/respected the Washington franchise. No hard feelings here of any kind. It IS because of the connections you mention.. :)

Everyone respects Aaron Rodgers. No one can tell me he's regressed. The issues, as far as I can see, are his supporting staff, beginning with the offensive line. The problem I see for the Redskins defense is Rodgers ability to move in the pocket and/or break contain and make off-script plays. Stone-footed Jay Cutler did that to us a few weeks ago and hopefully we've learned from that.

Packers list 17 on Wednesday injury report

The Packers listed 17 players on their injury report today. LT Bakhtiari and LG Sitton didn't participate. CB Sam Shields also was out and is still within the concussion protocol. This isn't to say that neither of this guys will play. But sitting out practices like this don't bode well for their playing time, and even if they do play, I wonder how effective they will be.

Packers see slide into playoffs as opportunity

Here's one commentators view on how the Packers and Dom Capers will try and slow down Captain Kirk. They'll try and replicate Dallas' gameplan in the first game between the two teams. But we know how to stop that. In addition, Kirk loves when teams blitz given all the weapons he has at his disposal. Let's hope Gruden makes sure to prepare for bring-the-house blitzes they may see.

As spot-on and mistake-free Cousins has been down the stretch for the Redskins, Capers figures to dial up plenty of pressure for the Packers to create havoc in the pocket, disrupt timing on pass routes and try to become an opportunistic bunch in coming up with a critical takeaway or two. Green Bay has two of the league's premier pass rushers in Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers. They must be unleashed for the Packers to have success in slowing down Washington's prolific downfield passing, especially with the prospect of Green Bay being short-handed on the back end if veteran cornerback Sam Shields can't play again because of a concussion. Still, nose tackle B.J. Raji said stopping the run will be a priority, never mind the Redskins' underwhelming rushing attack led by Alfred Morris.

Interesting point about Sam Shields: if he can't play, the Packers will start two rookies, Quinten Rollins and Damarious Randall, at CB. Even if Shields does play, there'll be a question as to how effective he'll be and there still be one rookie at CB, who'll have to cover Garcon.

The task then will be to make sure Cuz has time. If he does, we could be in for a big game, especially if the Pack starts two rookie CBs.

FWIW: Gene Steratore and his crew will be reffing our game against the Packers. While his crew has blown some calls, they've also been the crew to throw the fewest flags as well. That helps a more inexperienced team like us, that can be prone to things like formation and offensive PI penalties. On the flip side, it could hurt if they allow the Packers' young DBs to hold and interfere with our WRs / TEs.

Packers injury list today. Note that Damarious Randall has been added to that list with a groin injury. If neither he nor Shields can play, the Pack will have to start a rookie at CB and God-knows-who else opposite from him.
