Praise and Hesitant

I do not at all want to take anything away from that performance today from a multitude of people.

What Taylor showed today was nothing short of amazing!!!!! His footwork, his poise in the pocket, his shoulder turn, his entire throwing motion. Simply amazing from what it was the last 2 years. He wasn't perfect but no QB is.

As great as Taylor was I am afraid that his performance is going to overshadow the other stellar players and what they did. Abdullah, in my opinion, ran unbelievably. I was shocked when I saw he only had 81 yards rushing. He ran so hard especially between the tackles. Heard ran well when given the opportunity. I like Heard a TON!!!!! The WRs caught passes great. And the OL????? GREAT pass blocking and punishing run blocking!!!!!!!!!

Now as great it was here comes the hesitant part. It was a bad Southern Miss D that was over matched and nothing like last years. But the Nebraska O still dominated an inferior team. Can't same the same thing over the last couple years on inferior teams. Like Northwestern, South Dakota St, Texas A&M, and other teams over the last couple years.

Since I am Mr Negative and we all know I hate Nebraska and have an obvious agenda against them I have to say that the DL still looked like SHIT!!!!!!! Southern Miss ran right at us and gained yards. They didn't score much and all that but a better offense moves the ball even more on us.

The improvement we saw today was very very very encouraging but can't wait to see if they can maintain it!!!!

The D only gave up 13 points but was completely unimpressive!!!!

The Defensive Line didn't look physical enough to me today.......

As for the Defense in general, it looked like a group of guys who didn't know what to expect.........which makes sense beings that we had no idea what Southern Miss would throw at us Offensively.

We will have to see moving forward, but I expect the Defense to play better than they did today.

1. I was very shocked to see how much bigger some of these guys looked. Abdullah and Enunwa were the most glaring.

2. The history of Bo's teams is that they don't handle praise and success well. I hope that has changed in the same way the offense looked today. I am still scared that next week might be a struggle because of that.

Anyway Bo's excuse/explanation for the defensive woes was they were a lot more tame than they planned for and that they probably over coached them.

And yes, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Offensive Line play well today. Southern Miss isn't THAT inferior of an opponent in my opinion........compared to some of the inferior opponents that we have played and struggled against in the past.

I think there are a handful of teams in the BIG that Southern Miss would beat.
