By next week, NFL is expected to increase size of practice squads to 10 players from 8, per source. So 64 more jobs.

Ya I heard that too I think that it's a good thing. Allows a team to develop more young talent which will make everyone better!

I agree it will help in that regard. I think it will also help in creating more competition among P-Squad guy and I hope that what it also does is make teams put more thinking into forming their P-Squad with more quality developmental players with a future and potential as opposed to just guys to have bodies on there.

One thing I wish they would do but seems unlikely is for them to implement some system where opposing teams cant sign a guy off another teams P-Squad as easily as it currently is.

It's a good idea. One idea I just had regarding teams being able to claim players from other teams practice squads would be to have something a bit like baseball's 40 man roster, and let teams protect say 5 of their PS players.

My ideal situation would be to make the practice squad quite a bit bigger (say 25-30 players) with some kind of protection for some of them (say 10) and then have the practice squads scrimmage or play 7-on-7 against each other on like Wednesday afternoons or something.

I agree it's tough to develop players if they can be ripped off. At the same time it gives players a chance to start elsewhere. Has to be a happy medium.

Indeed. The other idea is a full blown minor league, but unless you make it flag football there's no way the NFLPA would agree to that.
