Two others, that are recognizable, in that first picture are: Dollard St. Laurent and HOF Linesman, George Hayes. I met Richard and St. Laurent and still have their autographs. I got to work with Hayes when I had a try out with the NHL in 1960.

there's a nice anecdote in Phil Esposito's autobiography where Howe went after Espo pretty hard the first time they faced each other. Espo gave it right back. Howe later commended him on his courage, and said that if he had bitched out at that moment, Howe would have owned him his entire career.

I do recall reading about that fight in a few hockey history books. his nose is just ... gone.
