Did you like Pattons' other stuff (i.e. Mr. Bungle)? I had trouble getting into it and really the only album I liked from Faith No More, from start to finish, was "The Real Thing"

Sabbath rules... but FNM's cover of War Pigs is better IMO

I like the eeriness of Sabbath's but that song needs to be angrier and thrashing.

Thrashing is over rated, unless it's Ritchie Blackmore just fucking around.

I like every FNM album and really dig Mr Bungle. Seen both bands several times in concert. IMO Patton is one of the top rock lead men of all time.

In fact I saw the famed FNM, GnR and Metallica concert and thought FNM blew the latter two off the stage. Granted I'm probably a bit biased as I like them more than the other two bands.

There's a '95 bootleg I have of FNM from the Phoenix Festival that is amazing.

Well... FNM isn't thrasher and their cover isn't really thrashing. Just a lot heavier and angrier than Sabbath's.... which is pretty much the essence of the song.
