If the Devils plan on being serious contenders they need to make a move for a top line winger. Without a bonafide 25+ goal type of guy I don't think they make it. They just don't have the ability to close out games that a playoff team needs. Even the games that they win, they always let the other team hang around. Need to be able to bury teams when the opportunities present themselves and so far they have not been able to do that.

Its a shame really. Great goaltending , great defense , great penalty kill , horrible offense.

If we had just an average offense we would be a surefire playoff team. Im still torn on whether or not I want to trade guys like Jagr , Zids and maybe even Marty or go out there and get a guy that can help us this year.

I doubt Zajac alone would be enough to snag Kane..although I think he is the one guy that is available and could be had for the right price.

Something like Zajac , Larsson and Zids for Kane and Enstrom should be something Lou should offer.

the only thing zajac to peg has going for them is 1. the contract isn't that bad if travis has a decent winger with him. and 2. hes from there that would be an insane pr dream for them.



this team is cooked 1 goal in 6 periods of regulation 5on5 hockey is just bad

I think we should try and make the playoffs. Would love it if Zajac was shipped out in the process. We need a more legit scoring option.

who knows maybe the olympic players come back and feel dejected and it helps us some how? or they feel sluggish? hopefully lundqvist silver or gold goes to his head like it did in 06 and the rangers tail spin with a tired calahan and mcdougnh. isles no tavares should be easy wins. caps ovie might be dejected too. lets hope so

IMO we don't go anywhere with PDB at the controls. He had one good season which was the SCF run and let's be honest, that was the team and not him. True that he doesn't have a lot to work with, but I look back at Lemaire as a coach that could take a no name team and get to the playoffs no problem. Not that I want a Lemaire type coach again, as I would rather the team be more offensive, but the fact remains to me the PDB can't make adjustments with the flow of a game. And at the end of each loss we hear the same old "we played well enough to win but didn't get the bounces BS." Yeah, okay. Great teams don't always get the bounces, but they overcome it. This team cannot. And I think it starts at the head coach and trickles down.

I don't think Zid is our problem. Lately our D & G played fine. Offence is really bad. At least Zid is one of the offensive D players who can help to score, but our F are really F...d-up with their responsibilities.

Cory played. Marty is supposed to get a game in soon though according to DeBoer.
