Winning! Giants take a crucial game to keep pace with the Dodgers (who just won, 3-2, over Arizona) and keep the Mets one game back. Cards fall to 5 games off the pace.

The offense capitalized on an error by Yadier Molina, with 1 out in the 3rd inning, to score 6 runs and chase Weaver.

Posey and Belt combined for 5 of the team's 7 hits and 6 of the 8 RBI's. Moore had just enough to go 5 full before handing it over to the bullpen, where they kept the lead (allowing only two baserunners, both on walks, in 4 innings)! :faint:

Interestingly, none of the runs off Weaver were scored as earned. The scorer actually got it right, compared to the debacle in Colorado back on May 5th (please see this game thread - Game Thread: - Cinco de Mayo - Gigantes vs. Las Montañas)

I told y'all, the Giants have big problems but the Cards are no better.

And the Cubs are cursed....

Ya forgot to mention, Posey goes yard first time in ages, Casilla looks good, etc.

But the Cards are only 3 back of the Giants

Damn, this was a fun one to go to. Haven't been to a game since May. It had a little bit of everything, even an idiot fan running on the field! Moore wasn't great, though showed flashes of his stuff. Mostly around 95, with cut.

The game really changed when Yadi decided to throw to 2nd instead of getting Moore. The way the Giants' offense had been going, he probably should have taken the sure out. The floodgates were opened from there.

Yeah, pretty much.

D@mn Noggin for his loyalty. KCya has one good outing and he is back in Noggin's good graces?!?

:L

:lm:

It's fucking ridiculous the amount of rope Bochy gives Casilla to hang himself. It's embarrassing. This loss is on Bochy, period.

EDIT: Well, we can still win I guess.

Bochy. What in the flying ***k are you thinking?! This loss is 99% Boch, 0.5% Romo, 0.5% Casilla.

Well, our pathetic offense shares some blame, too. We had 1st and 3rd and no one out, and got a SacFly double play when Span was caught in a rundown on the throw from the OF. Of course, if he'd have been safe, he would have scored on the next hit. This team just cannot get out of its own way.

Casilla should go on the DL.

5 losses and 9 blown saves in 59 games, that's a safe % of 76% which isn't very good. Not very good at all.

Law came off a 9 pitch inning in the 8th, probably should have started the 9th.

Romo comes in with a slew of right-handers due up, gives up one hit and you pull him for Casilla? This isn't a Casilla bash. Why bring in a RHP for a RHP? Pretty much set Casilla up to fail there, and totally undermined Romo in the process, AND embarrassed Casilla by getting him boo'd onto the mound, and off of the mound.

This is easily Bochy's worst season managing the bullpen. Utter crap. Bochy needs to be held accountable for this one. He set the boys up to fail.

Hindsight is 20/20 but really, who besides Noggin didn't see this coming? Anyone? Atrocious.
