Flames have 72 points with 19 games remaining, if they were to go 11-8 the rest of the way, that would give them 94 points and a pretty good ROW total presumably. I just don't know if that will be enough, though, 12-7 and a total of 96 points should do it.

I think you will overtake the Canucks but the kings will bypass us both. We both won't make it dash

It's not going to be easy, that's for sure, we certainly need either Winnipeg or Minnesota to go in the dumper to augment our respective teams chances. Maybe Markstrom's first game should have been on the road against Arizona tomorrow night?

Last season 91 points made the playoffs in the west. In 2012, 95 points. In 2011, 97 points. 95 in 2010.

That averages out to 94.5 points. Sounds about right to me, given that 6 teams are currently battling for 4 spots.

Seriously, though. Dubnyk has started 21 straight games, and Minnesota's remaining schedule is daunting (I haven't looked at other teams'). It would not surprise me if Minnesota just missed out. :sigh: They dug a HUGE hole and have been fantastic in digging themselves out, but they can ill afford any mistakes. I know the other teams can say the same thing, and hopefully we catch some teams trying to rest guys, but I'm not confident.

Bottom line is, they shouldn't even be in this position.

Canucks put San Jose back in the race last night and will let them overtake them Saturday. Our injuries have caught up and you can see it in the last 3 games on our defense. I'm glad we didn't make real trades for depth. This team needs to build it's youth.

maybe it should have been against Buffalo last week :noidea:

Desjardins coaching decisions questioned alot today ... like why no timeout after that crazy goal #2

I saw a tweet that canucks supposedly have the easiest remaining sched amongst the teams battling for a playoff spot in the west. Canucks have 3 games remaining v Arizona ... we all know what that means .. mark em down for 3 L's :L

Here are the remaining games that the six teams in the hunt have against each other...

Vancouver: 6 of 19 (SJS, WPG x 2, LAK x 3)
Minnesota: 3 of 19 (CGY, LAK, WPG)
Winnipeg: 5 of 18 (CGY, MIN, SJS, VAN x 2)
Calgary: 3 of 19 (LAK, MIN, WPG)
Los Angeles: 6 of 19 (CGY, MIN, SJS, VAN x 3)
San Jose: 3 of 17 (LAK, VAN, WPG)

I am confident in my team's ability to fuck it up down the stretch.

Just FYI, Dash.

The last four full season point totals for the last team making the playoffs in the West were 91, 97, 95, and 95.

Go Flames!

Flames have 13 games left and 81 points, a record of 7-6 down the stretch would give them 95 points and I'm thinking a pretty good number in the ROW column. That may be enough (although 7-5-1 and 96 points should certainly be enough).

And 6-7 wouldn't be enough. Such a fine line.

It's funny how before yesterday's games, the Kings looked great, now one loss and people are back to being worried whether they're making the playoffs or not

It's going to be a fun ride
