Doesn't work that way here.

Dipoto and Servais are BBFs, meaning there's no way in Hell that firing will take place.

Even if this reached Stanton, he'd have to clear it with the board, which still has the likes of Howard Lincoln and one other previous incompetent owner.

I only just found out about that last part this morning...which explains a LOT.

Sure Servais should be gone, but we also need to clear out the entire staff. Two players took steps forward and that was JP and Kelenic (compared to his previous seasons) and those two went outside of the organization to get better. And oddly enough Jerry and all of the commentators promoted that. No irony there of telling your owner you are wasting millions of dollars on coaches.

So question is, why did every other player take a step back. Cal is what he is, and I would argue at most Julio stayed flat. Cross cancel his 20 AB’s in August and his 20 AB’s where the umps f’ed him over in April 22 and he is the same. But every other everyday player took a step back from what they were. Hell even Wong looked better for LA than his entire time in Seattle.

Yes, because they're ALWAYS better when they're not on this team.

Servais and Dip are tied at the hips. So both would need to go. This ownership doesn’t care about winning, even when they claimed they do, they only care about raking in the $$$ here with SELLING POINTS and monopoly. They proved that much when they rejected the idea of the Sonics group led by Hansen building an arena next door to them.

The last part I will say the Mariners are horrible at PR with anything to do business wise but they were right to object to the arena unless Hansen and Ballmer were going to fund more of the infrastructure. The Seahawks/Sounders had the same complaint just the Mariners was made public then Stanton went full retard with his ugly house statement.

Not to get too side track here from the M’s discussion where appropriate and it’s also years ago so I don’t remember anymore but didn’t the Hansen group were going to fund 100% of the arena? It was pretty much DOA anyway since the city rejected it along with CenturyLink Field but the way the M’s went about it left a really sour taste.

It is well documented that Dipoto and Servais are tight. Dipoto wanted Servais because he won't say shit about anything. Dipoto got burned by Scioscia and he didn't want another manager with clout. That should have been the first ominous sign.

I forgot Dippy came from Anaheim. Makes sense why this organization has seen 1 playoff appearance in 21 yrs.

The arena yes, but with the arena going in, Sodo/the stadium district needed millions of dollars in infrastructure upgrades. Roads, sewer and lights. Plus with the newly passed laws at the time every new road had to have a sidewalk and plus a bike lane which the language was so vague. Not saying what the Mariners did was good but the language in the MOU was very vague and two stadiums being impacted by construction had a legit concern. It wasn’t ever specifically said who would cover the infrastructure costs or more importantly the cost overruns.

Biggest issue with that is the Mariners/Sounders/Seahawks all had the same concern. But the Mariners letter to the city was published and they are absolutely horrible at defending an unpopular position such as the ugly house remarks or their remarks when making the city and counting pay for all renovations/upgrades to the “publicly owned” TMobile Park. Maybe it is something that once you become rich you can’t talk to a normal person cause Stanton (and Dipoto) are terrible public speakers.

How could you forget. During the real rebuild years we were told over and over by Dipoto and the announcers that he developed Trout.

I tried to block out those rebuild losing seasons so I can remember these wasted seasons.

Servais anticipates the entire MLB coaching staff will return for next season, but said some roles or responsibilities might change. Hollander offered other injury updates. Marco Gonzales and Evan White are expected to be ready for spring training.

See. no heads are going to roll. The ownership is perfectly happy with things as are and the fans support the team if they win or not. Ignorant people wrongly accused Seattle fans of not supporting the Sonics so the fans of the Mariners feel like they have to support the team no matter what and the ownership knows this and takes advantage of it.

Hmm, seems weird that they failed to make the playoffs so they are bringing back everyone. Figure someone would have to fall on the sword.

Hitting coach for sure I thought. They like continuity.
