The AFC is still weaker than the NFC so I don't think it's stretch to say the Pats can get there but the Seahawks defense is just the kind of unit that will give them a lot of trouble. I'd pick Seattle to win if I had to bet the house on one of them..
I think Seattle is heavily overrated. I don't think they win that division or make much of a playoff run. If RG3 was handled slightly better Seattle was one and done.
I think we are in decent shape going into the season. The division is ours, we will make the playoffs, and all that matters is how this team is able to gel and be ready when the playoffs roll around. I'd almost be happier without a bye so the team hits the playoffs rolling. Either way, the skill is there to compete. The question mark is experience and decision making. If this team gets going no one will look forward to facing them.
Like I said, it's a serious question mark, but Bill is a very good coach.
His job is to get the players prepared. Preparedness of the huge number of young guys is going to be the deciding factor. That and the ability to handle the pressure, which Belichick is almost certainly already beating into their heads.
Having home field will be a key for the Pats as Manning and the Broncos are tough at home and they will have a cake walk through their division. So the way I see it every win counts to get home field.
It's a little early to be looking at this but like I said the AFC West is a joke minus the Broncos!
The gelled and hot version of this team can beat Denver on the road. The young team that's in over their heads loses at home. I don't see home field as the deciding factor.
You can guide and teach all you want but until you are on the field in that huge game you don't know. And again the seondary is very suspect, Peyton Manning has a lot of weapons at his disposal, I just think they have to be the favorite. This team is just to young on offense at least at the skill positions,
Again you relyin and assuming this team will gel and that the players BB selected are all going to be great, well BB has a pretty crappy record of drafting WRs and CBs
There's a big difference between Manning and Brady in the weather. There always has been.
Manning is horrible in poor conditions. Brady is the best of all time in cold weather (go ahead, look it up, it isn't even close). Moving to Denver means Manning's going to have to play in the playoffs in bad conditions each year - I will be surprised if he wins a Super Bowl there for that reason alone. Yes, he's still a great QB and yes, they have a very, very good team over there, but I'm sorry, I don't see it. No matter where that game takes place, it favors the Patriots.
