How come Indianapolis is in the AFC South and Miami is in the AFC East. Why weren't these teams swapped?

Miami should be in the league with Houston, Tennessee, and Jacksonville.

Because the NFL didn't want to destroy long standing rivalries. Jets-Dolphins and Bills-Dolphins.

It's part of why the Rams were kept in the NFC West, along with being the closest team to the West out of the Panthers, Falcons, and Saints.

They didn't care about Titans-Steelers, Indianapolis-New England, or Titans-Baltimore.

I wish they could scrap the AFC/NFC garbage and just do regional divisions.

I want a South Division with New Orleans, Atlanta, Carolina, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville. That would rock and create regional rivalries. It would make NFL more like college with the regional games.
