Heinicke is one of the better backups in the League but if he starts 10-12 games? Just average.

I get the change from Heinicke to Wentz, but that isn't the issue. Sure, Heinicke is an average player. The issue is whether Wentz has shown himself to be significantly better than Heinicke. Be it in Indy or Washington. I think the answer is no. And considering the difference in what each of them will cost is the difference in production worth the difference in cost.

I also would prefer having CW start next season over TH because he has the ability to take us further.

Don't forget the Lions or Jax. Wentz had a turnover in every game he started except Chicago.

And against Chicago. The Skins went for 28 rushes/128 yards/4.6 ypc. They also gained more 1st downs, 7 by running than they did by passing, 5 that game. And lets not forget the Skins TD scoring drive went all of 6 yards in that game. They were also 2/11 on 3rd dn conversions against Chi.

Against the Cowboys they had almost as many rushing yards 142 on 27 carries at 5.3 a pop as passing yards 155 yards on 25 comp on 42 att and Wentz tossed 2 INTs.

Against Tenn the Skins didn't convert a 3rd down till their last possession of the game. Against Det and Philly they couldn't muster a 1st dn in the 1st half of either game.

Wentz has had 1 strong outing and that came in week 1. A game the Skins were lucky to win as Jax left what should been 2 easy TDs on the field.

One could opine that even with a running game Wentz mostly played like hot dog-shit. The defense would've been better I suspect as well if the offense held up their end......which they really didn't after week 1. In week 2 all they did was made the Lions loss look better with the nd half scoring. After that the offense scored 47 points in the next 4 games combined.

I read someone's post that said you were cherry-picking stats that favored Taylor, Brock I think it was. To which I say, pick a stat. They all favor Taylor except comp % which is funny cuz I think that's the stat y'all were using. And its a easier comparison now as they roughly thrown the saame amount of passes. The stat that sticks out to me is ypa - Yards Per Attempt. Taylor has a decent 7.2 ypa. Carson an unacceptable 6.5 ypa. Why is it unacceptable you ask. Because it shows that Carson wasn't pushing the ball downfield. I hope that changes because Wentz's is really the only attribute that heavily favors Wentz. That and his size, but if he's not using that arm WTF?

When Carson was QBing Samuel was the team's leading WR. But he was averaging under 8 yards a catch. Terry Mac was getting a lotta garbage stats (catches) after the fact and JD while he had 4 TDs in the 4 games he played with Wentz. only had 12 catches.. I hope that changes. Because I think Wentz is the best option to go with. Not because he's ballin, he ain't. Or because he's a better QB, having a bigger arm does not make him a better QB than Taylor and from his ypa its doing him and the Skins no good. But that bigger arm does give the Skins a puncher, oit can make up for Wentz's late reads n recognition where Taylor can't on his late reads.

It don't make any difference. They should've found out if Howell could be that dude. He's the QB I wanted to see play. That shit has passed now though.

Until now Wentz has been worse for the Commanders than any other team he’s played for. If he doesn’t light it up these last games there’s no reason to think he’d be better next year. It may just be a bad fit, or he may be damaged goods.

It is the issue b/c the better QB in CW was on the bench which was crazy. The change should have been made after the bye. CW only has had 6 games in this system, TH has had lot more games and has proved he is not a starting QB in this league. If you put both QB's in FA CW will get a lot more money than TH. Why? b/c he is the better QB and younger.

I could care less about the money. IMO CW gives us the best chance to win.

He gets two more games. Like I said, he needs to show something these last two games to give the Commanders a reason to stick with him.

Everyone knows what they have in Heinicke. Playing Wentz now gives them a chance to see if he's worth keeping at his price tag, and he won't hit the 70% mark that would cost them a second instead of a third.

If he doesn't show anything, they can let him go without much cost beyond that third-rounder that they're not getting back anyway.
