Am I right in assuming that if New England wins today, Denver has no ability to improve beyond the number 2 seed?

Any chance they rest a banged up Manning on Monday night?

Please?

No. They currently are both 11-3. NE clinches top seed with win and Denver loss. If they both win it will go down to the last week.

Even if Denver for some strange reason rested Manning, they would still have primetime Dalton aiding their cause...............I smell a three pick game from Dandy......go ahead Andy, I dare you, make a liar out of me!!

New England holds the tiebreaker though.... So if they win today, they'll only be a home win against Buffalo away from the #1 seed.

Either way, the Bengals should be playing like the more desperate team -- We know that won't be the case, but it should!

Yeah, highly unlikely NE loses to Buffalo at home with the one seed on the line. However, it can't be assumed. The pessimist in me thinks that San Diego's come back last night really screwed the Bengals. I easily could see them losing out and SD grabbing the second wild card with a win against an unmotivated KC team.

Agreed..... I had that feeling last night when it went to overtime.

Denver isn't even guranteed a bye yet. There's no way they're resting Manning unless he's truly injured, which is not beyond the realm of possibility, no matter what Broncos fans may want to believe. I noticed a few of them trying to play off the stretching then leaving practice as a "scheduled day off", except I've never heard of a guy stretching with the team on a day off.

Manning did this almost every week over the final 8 weeks of the season last year. He took Wednesday's off almost every week and spent most of the time with the trainer. There is a great picture of Manning in the rehab room with his helmet on and Ipad watching practice and being able to listen to all the calls on the field. He hasn't done it this year as he hasn't been as banged up as he was last year but it makes sense with him being sick last week and having a bit of a thigh injury just to give him an extra day to rehab. Manning doesn't need the practice like the young guys at this point in the season. Maybe before making a statement like this you should actually look at the history of Manning with the Broncos.

Throw in the stretching with teammates thing is just Manning wanting as much time with teammates as possible.

Yes, he just wants to hang out with his teammates. That makes sense. Maybe you should learn reading comprehension before telling someone to do their homework. I never said anything about scheduled time off, I said that it is naive to think that it was scheduled when he was out there stretching before... Watching film? If that was the plan, that's stupid. He clearly needs the rest because his arm looks weaker than Manziel's right now.

DEN will definitely be all out in this one tonight...I see it's been pointed out already, but that's true, they do not have the #2 locked up yet.

Why wouldn't a quarterback who is a leader on the team want to spend more time with his teammates before a very crucial game in the season? Manning above any other quarterback in the NFL maximizes his time so him stretching either out with the team or back in with the trainers...which one does more for the team? I would say that of spending time with his teammates. Plus reassures his teammates that he is good to go for this week.

Also how is stretching with your teammates such a strenuous thing that it can't be a part of the day off? It is doing a half hour of stretches with teammates which he would have done anyway as part of rehab is getting the muscles loose. So it makes sense to maximize time with teammates during a critical week of the season then going and getting some treatment for his banged up thigh. Again the Broncos did this for months last season with Manning. This is nothing new so making a bigger deal out of this than it really is just is crazy.

Does he sit on his trainer's face before or after he stretches with his teammates?

Not mad at all...I have no reason to be just think before someone makes a comment maybe they should do a bit of research. Peyton has done this thing before which is why no Bronco fan is freaking out about him having a "scheduled day off." It also does not surprise us that he would want to go out and stretch with his teammates before going back to the trainer as he loves his teammates and they love him and he would just much rather be with them than with the trainers any chance he gets.

Now do I think Peyton is banged up a bit right now? Yes I do. Almost every player is at this point. It is not enough though to have me worried about him and how he performs the rest of the season though.

You are right I am so mad right now. GRRRRRR. What reason would I have to be mad? My team has clinched a playoff spot, all they have to do is win one of the final two to get a bye week, and they still have a chance at the #1 seed in the playoffs for a 3rd year in a row. Yeah I sure have a lot to be angry at right now.
