In the scenario I ran. They do have it locked up.
Even in an alternate scenario they had it locked up. They had tiebreakers with teams they would have tied with in a lose week 17.
there is definitely a realistic scenario they could be 11-5 and out......but many more where they'd be in.

Well then why is it used for the Browns only vs a team that is coming off a huge high? I actually inclines me to think the Browns might win in a blowout actually...this team had their moment this year vs the Rams last week. They won't win another one. That matchup feels a lot like the NYG matchup except worse. Decent defense, horrible offense.
Only thing I'd change there is far from a decent defense as only 4 teams have given up more points than the Jets.

In my same scenario the Browns win the division. (by beating the Steelers)

So I think you're confused. I don't think the Browns are losing to the Jets. I said it MAY happen, because of "any given sunday" like it did with the Jets against the Rams, but I don't have the Jets beating the Browns. I never said that I did either.

so for some teams it applies and some it doesn't? Pretty sure the term was created for all teams and not just certain ones.
It can't pertain to EVERY team in a set of predictions like this. But also, I think you're confused like your Browns buddy. I don't have the Jets beating the Browns. I said it MAY happen because "any given sunday". Just like it could happen with the Browns beating the Steelers in Week 17. But, being that it's my predictions, I don't see the Browns beating the Steelers on Week 17. Obviously anything can happen but in MY predictions, the Browns miss the playoffs by losing the tiebreaker to the Ravens.

Bottom line. Anything can happen during any game on any day of the week. But this is what I think will happen over the next 2 weeks. "Any Given Sunday" can apply to every team, yes, but it can't apply to every team in the same set of predictions otherwise we shouldn't be predicting anything because anything can happen so why predict anything?

Used the playoff machine? Seriously Koy, just say this is your homer pick to have the Eagles not only get in but make it to the CG. All of us are proud of our homerism. Just embrace it son. Lol.

Yeah I used the playoff machine to pick the winners and losers in every game over the final two weeks to determine the seeding and records.

Because the Eagles aren't making the playoffs

That remains to be seen. If the Redskins lose Sunday then the Eagles are likely winning the NFC East.

I don't understand why it is so impossible?

1) Eagles have to win last 2 games
2) Washington has to lose to the Panthers
3) Giants would have to lose to Cowboys

Then if that all happened to make playoffs
4) Eagles would have to beat the Bucs who have been much better than Eagles all season
5) Eagles would have to beat the Packers who have been much better than Eagles all season

The odds of all that happening are pretty damn slim

1) Eagles play the Cowboys & Redskins. Those are absolutely games they can win.

2) Alex Smith is 50/50 to play tomorrow and McLaurin is doubtful to play. A lot rides on this game obviously but it is very much in the realm of possibility that the Panthers win that game.

3) You're wrong unless you are assuming that the Giants beat the Ravens tomorrow. Eagles need the Giants to only lose at least one of their remaining two games and it is very likely the Giants lose to Baltimore tomorrow.

4) Bucs have been inconsistent. They would surely be favored in that game. But at the end of the day it's old man Brady playing in cold weather against one of the best defensive lines in the league. Brady's weakness has always been a good pass rush.

5) Packers beat the Eagles in Green Bay this season. Wentz was putrid and they finally went to Hurts late in the 3rd quarter and it provided an instant spark. Packers would for sure obviously still be favored but it would be an interesting matchup with Hurts getting the start and preparation as starter and certainly in the realm of possibility of an upset.
