I meant Baylor at 12-0 in the above post.
It may be enough, it may not. Let's just say that Baylor wins out beating TCU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. The Oklahoma State only loses to Baylor beating Oklahoma. Oklahoma beats TCU but loses to the other two. That would put Oklahoma at 9-3, TCU at 9-3, Oklahoma State at 11-1 and Baylor at 12-1. Now Oklahoma and TCU wouldn't be ranked or at least one wouldn't and if they are they'll be in the bottom of the top 25. Oklahoma State would likely be out of the top 10 maybe int he 15 range. That would be Baylor's best win and then the rest of the schedule besides those three games is pitiful.
Undefeated Baylor will jump us
Edit: That's too many moving parts, and I don't see Oklahoma or TCU losing 3 games.
If Baylor goes undefeated then they will both have two losses and they still play one another so one will have three losses so I'm sure you can see it now. If Oklahoma wins except against Baylor then Oklahoma State would end with 2 losses and Oklahoma 2 and TCU 3. None of those teams would be as highly ranked at that point.
Oklahoma is the most well rounded team in the Big12, and I'm guessing they're going to win out. Which would eliminate the Big12, unless Notre Dame loses to Stanford. But, if Baylor beats Oklahoma this week, I see them winning out.
Oklahoma getting lots of love, starting to worry me.
Holding strong at #4. Oklahoma #7.
Stanford being #11 is really good for us, the top rated 2 loss team I believe. Oklahoma might not have enough to catch us. I was thinking they would be 5 or 6
If USC beats Oregon this week, we could have wins against 3 top 20 teams.
No OSU would be out. Iowa would be in.it will be hard to leave out an ND team that may beat the eventual Pac12 champion and the possible AAC (an actual good conference) champion in Navy. Would Iowa and Ohio State both be in the playoff if Iowa beat Ohio State in the big10 championship game.
if they had a conference championship they would of a shot.Holding strong at #4. Oklahoma #7.
Stanford being #11 is really good for us, the top rated 2 loss team I believe. Oklahoma might not have enough to catch us. I was thinking they would be 5 or 6
I agree, if we dont make it I hope we dont play LSU again. I would like to play someone different.Yeah now the ESPN talking heads are making their case for Oklahoma as if the committee doesn't know of these possibilities. It's like first it was TCU, would they have enough of a resume (even as an undefeated) to beat out the Irish. Then it was Baylor. Now it's Oklahoma. Next week it could be Oklahoma State.
If we don't make it we don't. If it comes down to three unbeatens (Clemson, OSU/Iowa, Oklahoma St.) and a slew of one-loss teams, Bama probably gets by us but I think we'd be the second one-loss team. So if we have only 2 unbeatens and 2 one-loss teams, we're probably in. I don't really mind either way. What I'd like to see most is another bowl win to keep that momentum going. We went so long without a bowl win that some consistency in bowl games would be a fine consolation next to winning the NC. It was nice to be in the game in '12 but it wasn't any fun at all watching Bama beat our brains in.
I would love to play Iowa in a bowl game if ND doesn't make it. I live in Illinois and am 10 minutes away from Iowa. Iowa fans are insufferable. Iowa has no professional sports team so it is Hawkeyes all year round. I can't fucking stand it!
