But what I’m saying when it comes to the pitch clock is just like the play clock. Either pitch it in this amounted seconds on get penalized where in football snap it in amount of time or get penalized. Same idea
It's not the same idea, football is a timed game. The play clock is to keep the leading team from just letting the clock run out.

Why would you want the average game to be 3 hours? Wasted time bc the 45 mins is just waiting. It isn’t hurting the quality of the game. You are just waiting longer in between pitches. I don’t miss the at bats where the batter steps out 3 times and the pitcher waits 30 seconds before stepping off the mound. This is a good step in reeling in the non-baseball fans with a more fast-paced gameplay. Baseball is my favorite sport and I can tell you this is great for the game, maybe some tweaks in later innings giving the pitcher more time.
I was joking. It doesn't matter what the time is. If it's good baseball then it's worth the longer time.

I am all for tweaking the rule. But in that situation, he looked like he was taking his own sweet time getting back in the box.

I am not a huge “watch the clock” guy, though, so adding a few seconds is AOK with me.

I'm good with him being called out there

Get in the box

As you can easily see if you don't have early on set dementia, my complaint does not begin with Nola shitting himself about the rule.

You rush something and you get a worse result. Go rush your pancakes right now. They will be shit.

Get in the box and quit crying

A week into baseball. I love the pitch clock. The clear best rule change in the past 10 years.

I honestly don’t even see a valid argument against except. I HATE CHANGE

I don’t see how people see negatives with the pitch clock it speeds up the game and people these days don’t want to spend 5 hours at the ballpark anymore. Those were the old days. Now people have a lot one there agenda other then goin to games

Game time is down half an hour..average and steals are up

Average game time dropped from 3 hours to 2 1/2 hours. Game time could have been reduced other ways. This year's attendance is projected to go bak to pre-covid attendance, so shorter games are not drawing new fans.

Steals are up because runners aren't afraid to get picked off anymore. Because pitchers are on a time clock and can't throw to first like they used to, runners are leaving earlier. The best catchers have seen their throw out numbers decrease. 2023 Steals*

Average game time was up to just over three hours. Anyone spending 5 hours in a ball park were there because they wanted to be. (Shopping the fan store, watching batting practice, eating and socializing.)

I don’t have a strong opinion either way on the clock. Though I think I tend to fall slightly on the “against” side.

I have noticed that the announcers don’t have time to talk about the play that just happened. They can’t put it in context. They can’t explain the minutia of the situation so the viewer can LEARN about the game.

I suspect this will improve with time, but I fear this may be something that is essentially lost. And that kills the romanticism, to an extant.
