At least the car hit the wall with the bottom of the car instead of halo 1st.
I hope if Russell isnt allowed to continue it is for some other rule & not because he got out of his car to check on Zhou.

The rule is if you cannot get the car back to the pits under it's own power and "stop on track" as soon as you get out of the car you are out of the race. Also if the track marshalls pick up your car, you're out. Both of those things happened. George jumped out to help, couldn't get the car restarted when he got back to it. He ran back to the pits for help and by the time he got back, marshalls had scooped it up. Unfortunate for George, but it's the rule.

Restart got frisky, bodywork went everywhere from Ferraris and RBs and may have contributed to Max running over something and damaging the floor on his car and dropping him from the lead. Lewis now stalking the Ferarris who keep getting in each others' way. He could win this.

Crazy crazy race so far.

After that insane start, the surprise news is Team Haas is in the Top 10. Schumacher 8th, Magnussen 10th.

Sainz takes the win. Perez was 2nd, followed by Hamilton in 3rd who gets a podium finish, and LeClerc in 4th. Verstappen finish 7th and Team Haas finished 8th and 10th.

Quite improbably with 4 laps to go I had 3 of the top four, and wound up with only getting the one who nearly went out of the race on the restart right...

Alex Albon and Zhou Guanyu have both been medically cleared and released from care. They flew Albon to the hospital in Coventry for some undisclosed reason, but he has been released.

The Halo saved two lives today. F2:

F1 REALLY needs to get a good explanation of why Zhou's roll hoop disintegrated. A taller driver may not have been so lucky.

Ocon breaking own cost Hamilton P2. He was only matching Leclerc at the time but with much younger tires.

And I think George was unfortunately at fault for the 1st lap crash.

Really odd they had 11 seconds at least to make the call to Leclerc under the safety car, and could have potentially double stacked the 2 cars.

That has to be why Binotto was wagging his fingers at Leclerc. Dissension in the ranks.

I always re-watch races.

Don't keep them forever but I do re-watch them within a week or so.

I'm going to save this one for a special night's happy hour.
